Currently I am reading Rock, Paper, Scissors: Game Theory in Everyday Life ~ by, Len Fisher

I'm not quite sure how to organize my thoughts so I'll just start and...

I got a message at another forum. It intrigued me with it's seemingly haphazard arrangement of upper-case and lower-case letters. As I'm also reading A Young Woman's Mathematical Journey In Code ~ by Sarah Flannery with David Flannery. They mention the Caesar Cipher... mix all this with my penchant for trying to understand coincidence and you get my imaginative mini mystery juices flowing.

Predictably, curiosity got the better of me and I sent a cautious message back. Here's where you all get to laugh out loud, perhaps whilst rolling on the floor.

"Hello my dearest

Oh, but that just doesn't make any sense at all so I investigate further and it's a 419 scam. An advance-fee fraud is a confidence trick. A confidence trick or confidence game (also known as a bunko, con, flim flam, gaffle, grift, hustle, scam, scheme, swindle or bamboozle) is an attempt to defraud a person or group by gaining their confidence. The victim is known as the mark, the trickster is called a confidence man, con man, confidence trickster, or con artist, and any accomplices are known as shills. Confidence men or women exploit human characteristics such as greed and dishonesty, and have victimized individuals from all walks of life.

(Social engineering and cognitive biases)...

So I found that in turn there is another form of game to counter-act this scamming called scam baiting. Apparently it's a great cyber-sport.

From wiki~
In ethics, some authors have attempted to pursue the project, begun by Thomas Hobbes, of deriving morality from self-interest. Since games like the Prisoner's dilemma present an apparent conflict between morality and self-interest, explaining why cooperation is required by self-interest is an important component of this project. This general strategy is a component of the general social contract view in political philosophy (for examples, see Gauthier (1986) and Kavka (1986).[12]

Other authors have attempted to use evolutionary game theory in order to explain the emergence of human attitudes about morality and corresponding animal behaviors. These authors look at several games including the Prisoner's dilemma, Stag hunt, and the Nash bargaining game as providing an explanation for the emergence of attitudes about morality (see, e.g., Skyrms (1996, 2004) and Sober and Wilson (1999)).

Some assumptions used in some parts of game theory have been challenged in philosophy; psychological egoism states that rationality reduces to self-interest—a claim debated among philosophers. (see Psychological egoism#Criticisms)

If I played along and baited him...thereby being drawn into a social dilemma...I feel a vigilante criminologist..............
