Isnt It?

Alex

Im Trying To Say That The Bible Explained That Especific Natutalistic Event Before Science Did.

I would like to mirror that opinion of Roberts comment, said perfectly. I would also like to acknowledge the fact that, while science has succeeded religion in many ways, religion has credence which science forgets. Science can blind us and so can religion. THat's why nobody's discovered the TOE, they can't find out where science and religion fuse together, at what point (well at the big bang obviously, but we haven't explained that...). I view science and religion as the same thing really, but just different methods. If one wanted to discover the TOE they would have to combine the deconstructing analysis that science employs with the intuitive means of religion. Religions can't analyze and Science can't be intuitive, that's the problem.

Sorry, I'm gonna squeeze one more post in here and give my opinion about whether or not proving something is vital to understanding. I'm doing this because PROFET raises a very good point with his quote from the Bible.

It is not coincidence at all that the Bible correctly explained the evolution of life on earth from water to land to air. They did it by INTUITION! I mean come on, it doesn't take a genius to sit on the beach and think "hmmmm I bet you life started in the oceans, then went to land, and then birds evolved last." It's just an intuitive conclusion! Can you prove it? No! Or at least religions couldn't at the time. So are we to forego what our instinctive insight is telling us, disregarding it until proof comes along? How can we discover anything if we only wait for the proof to come and tell us? That's the problem with atom smashers, they think they can just watch everything and they'll figure it out, like the TOE will just be given to us if we have an expensive enough accelerator or something. NO! We have to start with intuitive thinking, an idea, a Eureka, which to me is strangely enough not very scientific sounding.

It is true, the Bible is meant to keep us in the dark in many ways. The Bible gives us a form of understanding but no proof. If science proves God, then we'll know how God worked his magick, how he did everything. This is of course what God is trying to keep secret, so he only lets us know the things he thinks we need to know. We're on a need to know basis I guess, well the secret is out there waiting to be discovered. Humans are smart enough to figure it out, but we have to search deep inside and think of the most intuitive thing we can. Don't think about it too hard, it's not that hard.

always the best regards

subversion,

you are right, but even if i dont get proof tht god soes exist you always have to remember that faith is believing without proof,

Profet,

Getting ONE correct thing in a book that is supposed to explain everything in the unvierse is quite a very bad number. The bible, and any other religion, is supposed to be a TOE, but they all fail... by far, they all fail...

And, if you try to say by all these posts that the bible HAS historic and scientific value, then, you believe pi to be 3 exact, do you? Because the bible sais so.

You crisitians always talk about pagans as people "under" you all, well, the babilonians where pagans according to your religion, but they were way much better than your book in anytrhing to do with nature, for if you don't know, the babilonians gave pi to a very exact number, and they did it 1,000 years before your "according-to-you-very-nature-explaining-book" attempt of pi=3 exact.
