    Question Enthalpy entropy and free energy???

    This doesn't make sense to me.
    Enthalpy, entropy ad free energy do not seem to fit togeter but they do operate together. I think or I may not have unerstood properly, they are contradictory to each other. But they combined determine the state of a system. Can ay one please explain this. For me thermodynamics has become the combination of opposites.

    Guille;
    This is a term of thermodynamics that refers to work energy as it relates to temperature as defined by “degree of freedom” of the first law of thermodynamics.

    If you follow the thermodynamic link, it should become clearer to you.
    I do agree with you though, it is a worthless term.
