Geocentricity?

Alright, I have one question challenging the idea that the earth rotates (bear with me). I don't know how fast it's rotating but lets just say 500mph going east. If you got in a vehicle, started driving (eastward) on a street that wrapped around the equator, and coasted at 500mph wouldn't you be stationary relative to the earth?

Also, whilst accelerating (to 500mph) wouldn't you seemingly be slowing down as you reached the speed of rotation?

Whats your opinion?

What about the Concorde,that flew at mach2.5,twice as fast as the earth rotates,which is I believe about 1000 miles per hour.
the Concorde could infact outrun the terminator line,that divides day,from night!

The galaxies thought they had it worked out and then there was the dark matter problem. Every time we unwrap another layer to this acceleration inside acceleration inside acceleration we get another physics lesson waiting for us. I think we have built a time machine and it runs all by itself and noone owns it and noone drives it and noone is claiming it Universe One. Game Set Match.
