When the universe is only spatially closed it is called a compact universe. When it is also temporally closed then it is called a contact universe. By these definitions it is logical that there can only be one contact universe while a multitude of compact island universes exist without each knowing the existence of the others. Compact universes are isolated independent systems of reality which share no common spacetime points. On the other hand contact multiverses share at the least one common contact spacetime point forming a connected superuniverse.
