You talk about infinities, but what does infinity really mean? It means to go on forever, to never have an end. Doesn't that mean that if there is infinite time, then an infinite amount of things will happen. In other words, on an infinite timeline, everything will eventually happen. If the universe is infinite, eventually everything will happen. Including an end! And then what? The universe ceases to exist? But that's not possible, because 'nothing' is impossible... so you might say if the universe is infinite, then an infinite amount of things will happen *except* an ending. But that's not infinite then, if you're excluding something as a possibility. However, including the possibility, that an ending will happen in an infinite amount of time, then it won't be an infinite amount of time. I think the very existence of infinity gives rise to a paradox. Do we live in a paradox then?

Also a good one=as zeroca stated.

Not only infinity is all the possibilities but also all the non-possibilities.

if the universe is a linear progression of events, then an end is logical but if the universe is a cyclical progression of events, then the beginning is the starting point of the this cycle, which was the end of the previous cycle and the end of this cycle is the beginning of the next cycle in a never ending never beginning spinning wheels of repeated cycles after cycles.

But that wouldn't be a REAL infinity.

Exclamation infinite - 08-01-2005, 07:03 PM

if as witten and green suppose, the big bang was caused by the collision between two parrellel universes in the 11th dimsension, then there is time before the big bang

there then would be infinite big bangs occurring with the collisions of infinite parrellel universes in which all possibilites exist

our universe is like a bubble in an ocean....there is no reason why the 11th dimension itself wouldn't be the same....a bubble in an even bigger ocean...nature tends to repeat itself...to work in cycles....what better cycle than that.....

the multiverse being like a fractal

If there is something said to Infinite it cant be a physical entity. No right. The mathematical concept of infinity is an acepted quantity since it is a Logical unit.
So i cant imagine the universe as a infinte environment. Even the Stephen Hawkings proposal that universe is a spheriacl entity with imaginary time flowing which gives a view of universe should agree that the horizon of universe exist's.

Dont ask me then what is there outside the horizon, I am too searching for the with Quest for TOE.

Thumbs up Where come out the universe from? - 08-14-2005, 04:23 AM

Hi,

I would like to present my view point. I think the matter - energy cannot out of nothing. The universe come out of previous state of math-physical and philolosophical continuum, that is the universe's hatch. Only there are the universal conditions to create new physical matter-energy in some fixed space-time orders. Our universe is physicaly and temporaly closed but it has been broaden with overlight speed of space, contrary to the matter, which is changing for energy due to space movement, and the light as energy's manifestation can not move about more then 300 000 km/sek. If space speed of expansion was infinite all matter and energy had been smudged. Then would be nothing. Therefore we live in real world not fantastic.

I think the Cost & Effect philosophy cannot be applied to the Origin.

But i cant agree with arguments that BigBang cannot begin within a pea size ball. After all we have all read about black holes and the Singularities where we tend to go into infinite density area.
