Theory of Everything: Looking for common ground...

Perhaps what we ought to be looking for is the COMMON GROUND between General relativity and Quantum Mechanics. Take for instance the mysterious continuum, that common ground that is because it isn’t –the thing (or nothing) we call SPACE. Is the “space” found between a nucleus and an electron the same “space” that we find between galaxies? If so, what are the properties of this space? Do the properties of space at a macro level (i.e curvature etc) apply on a quantum level and to what degree?

I think the forces in the macro level are too weak to have any impact in the micro level. The force of gravity is may be far too less at the nuclear level, compared to the force that is actually noticed there through experiment. So, that brings us to the conclusion that it is a different force acting at the micro level.

Hm...I wasn't so much talking about forces and their action but the nature of "space" at both a quantum and macro level.

    Is space the same everywhere?

Re: Theory of Everything: Looking for common ground...

Einstein had some thoughts on space: (these were some of the conclusions he came up with after his many years of study!)

“If we think of the field as being removed, there is no “space” which remains since “space” does not have an independent existence”

“Hence it is clear that the space of physics is not, in the last analysis, anything given in nature or independent of human thought. It is a function of a our conceptual scheme [mind]”

“Space as conceived by Newton proved to be an illusion…”

It could be that the influence of energies are what form space.

The quantum level may be very close to space, while for us giants it is far removed.

    Hello, again, Miss Christian.
I am presently looking into space.
