As above, so below=as without so within?

I'm sure this is not a new topic, and if so, would aspire to the redirection and subsequent 'anchorage therein'...

The concept of reality is a topic under constant discussion and review. I continue to be fascinated by past, and even more so by present, discussion of our proposed experience of reality within us and placed there by our senses from without.

There have been many visual and textual presentations of how one of our senses, sight, is experienced by humans. To summarise, we humans actually 'see' a copy of the energy of the 'outside' world using equipment that is sensitive to recording (visible) light energy, converting it to electrical impulses for the brain to decode and representing it within a virtual reality world (in this instance of the first order without support of the other senses) in 3D form as served by stereoscopic receivers.
The question posed by many is how is it we actually 'see' this vision of the outside world as being on the outside when infact the vision is, in all reality [sic] within us.
That being said, I agree that since birth our other senses, based on the transference of electrical impulses, have conditioned us to perceive everything in our life as being 'out there'.

Now I must say that this is an initiator to a topic that I believe will have many branches and reaffirmations. My objective here is to stimulate input and discussion on the subject at hand bringing in the fields of quantum physics, holographic DNA, materialisation, sychronicity, parallel universes, holographic data storage (biological) and associated physiological bits and bobs from human experience and modern-day open-minded analyses of human experiences.

I suppose one item that got me started into looking deeper into the subject was the well known phenomenon of the lower limb amputee having 'itchey feet' and perceiving the itch to be in space where his foot used to be and attempting to relieve the itch by scratching it there.

There is no doubt that our brain is a fantastic virtual reality generator......

    I wanna know more...

Re: As above, so below=as without so within?

You might find this thread of my starting to be of some interest....

    http://www.toequest.com/forum/assume...y-form-23.html

    The OP from this thread:

    'Thought' is an energy form.
The brain and it's workings are still not well understood by science, even with the technologies that allow us to perform brain surgery and advanced Prosthetics.

    What, precisely, is a 'thought'?

I would suggest that it is a form of energy that the brain is able to manipulate, it's source being the fundamental substance or field that surrounds all.

All animals and plants likewise have access to this energy, and in the case of more advanced life forms, as an example domestic species, we can actually communicate, at a basic level, by means of this energy.

    No hocus-pocus.

Various instrumentation has indeed measured that there is a bio-magnetic (for lack of better wording) energy field by which insects, birds and mammals migrate, an orientation device.

This same general principle allows us to 'think' at and between each other to greater and lessor degree.

I have utilized this understanding in selecting and breeding animals that are receptive to such interaction with humans, as I perceive such a trait to be advantageous to both species in a resource challenged future.
I entertain a wide range of ideas, and generally conform to none of the 'standard beliefs', thereby offending all equally, LOL...
So many paths to the same destination,
would, but I could, experience them all...

Re: As above, so below=as without so within?

Thankyou Labelwench for your thoughtful prompting.

Yes, 100%+, -- thought-waves have been validated to create energy that can be measured. Taking into account that theoretically according to our laws of physics, 'energy can neither be created nor destroyed...' thought energies must therefore permeate the universe. I say 'universe' as I adopt the theory that there is only the present that we exist in and take action therein. And IMO all things actionable can only take place in the moment of now. (Under the 'eyes' of God, or the Creator, or with respect any mode of reference to the original architect to our existence... looking down on all events, wherever they may be in the universe, happen in the moment of now).

If we manage to inadvertently tune our minds into thoughts that are swirling around in the universal pool of present time, then how rewarding it is to use the materialising abilities of synchronicity to achieve the desires we have in the abundance that surrounds us. Again it is (in my opinion) man's quest to discipline [his] active mind and thoughts to quell the overiding logic and reasoning, that dilutes the power of mind we all have, to achieve the wonders this life has to offer us all.

I must say that I have never been a deeply religious person, coming from a very logical and scientific upbringing, but recent readings of biblical passages, referenced from research and general reading, have prompted me to now read between the lines from biblical notes and writings.
For example, my recent referals to all that we cognate from exterior energy stimulus is realised from within us correlates beautifully with the ideology of God being within all of us, viz a vie, mankind being in the image of God, etc etc...

These again are interesting times, as indigo children et al, validate a new way of thinking in what is supposed to be an important period 'in time' [2012], where hu[man]kind is supposed to dimensionally transgress to a new mode of thinking and belief.

To quote the proverbial... "it's gonna be an interesting year"

Re: As above, so below=as without so within?

    Avicennian philosophy
Ibn Sīnā wrote extensively on early Islamic philosophy, especially the subjects logic, ethics, and metaphysics, including treatises named Logic and Metaphysics. Most of his works were written in Arabic - which was the de facto scientific language of the time in the Middle East, and some were written in the Persian language. Of linguistic significance even to this day are a few books that he wrote in nearly pure Persian language (particularly the Danishnamah-yi 'Ala', Philosophy for Ala' ad-Dawla'). Ibn Sīnā's commentaries on Aristotle often corrected the philosopher[citation needed], encouraging a lively debate in the spirit of ijtihad.

In the medieval Islamic world, due to Avicenna's successful reconciliation between Aristotelianism and Neoplatonism along with Kalam, Avicennism eventually became the leading school of Islamic philosophy by the 12th century, with Avicenna becoming a central authority on philosophy.[26]
Avicennism was also influential in medieval Europe, particular his doctrines on the nature of the soul and his existence-essence distinction, along with the debates and censure that they raised in scholastic Europe. This was particularly the case in Paris, where Avicennism was later proscribed in 1210. Nevertheless, his psychology and theory of knowledge influenced William of Auvergne, Bishop of Paris and Albertus Magnus, while his metaphysics had an impact on the thought of Thomas Aquinas.[27]

    [edit] Metaphysical doctrine

Early Islamic philosophy and Islamic metaphysics, imbued as it is with Islamic theology, distinguishes more clearly than Aristotelianism the difference between essence and existence. Whereas existence is the domain of the contingent and the accidental, essence endures within a being beyond the accidental. The philosophy of Ibn Sīnā, particularly that part relating to metaphysics, owes much to al-Farabi. The search for a definitive Islamic philosophy separate from Occasionalism can be seen in what is left of his work.
Following al-Farabi's lead, Avicenna initiated a full-fledged inquiry into the question of being, in which he distinguished between essence (Mahiat) and existence (Wujud). He argued that the fact of existence can not be inferred from or accounted for by the essence of existing things, and that form and matter by themselves cannot interact and originate the movement of the universe or the progressive actualization of existing things. Existence must, therefore, be due to an agent-cause that necessitates, imparts, gives, or adds existence to an essence. To do so, the cause must be an existing thing and coexist with its effect.[28]

Avicenna’s consideration of the essence-attributes question may be elucidated in terms of his ontological analysis of the modalities of being; namely impossibility, contingency, and necessity. Avicenna argued that the impossible being is that which cannot exist, while the contingent in itself (mumkin bi-dhatihi) has the potentiality to be or not to be without entailing a contradiction. When actualized, the contingent becomes a ‘necessary existent due to what is other than itself’ (wajib al-wujud bi-ghayrihi). Thus, contingency-in-itself is potential beingness that could eventually be actualized by an external cause other than itself. The metaphysical structures of necessity and contingency are different. Necessary being due to itself (wajib al-wujud bi-dhatihi) is true in itself, while the contingent being is ‘false in itself’ and ‘true due to something else other than itself’. The necessary is the source of its own being without borrowed existence. It is what always exists.[29][30] The Necessary exists ‘due-to-Its-Self’, and has no quiddity/essence (mahiyya) other than existence (wujud). Furthermore, It is ‘One’ (wahid ahad)[31] since there cannot be more than one ‘Necessary-Existent-due-to-Itself’ without differentia (fasl) to distinguish them from each other.

Yet, to require differentia entails that they exist ‘due-to-themselves’ as well as ‘due to what is other than themselves’; and this is contradictory. However, if no differentia distinguishes them from each other, then there is no sense in which these ‘Existents’ are not one and the same.[32] Avicenna adds that the ‘Necessary-Existent-due-to-Itself’ has no genus (jins), nor a definition (hadd), nor a counterpart (nadd), nor an opposite (did), and is detached (bari’) from matter (madda), quality (kayf), quantity (kam), place (ayn), situation (wad’), and time (waqt).
