I did the time standing on my head Prof. 4 years in the U.S.M.C. here, but I volunteered for that, I was only 17 at the time. Rights and passage into manhood and all that . . . sorta made it a welcome experience at the time. Something I've always appreciated and have never forgotten. Sometimes, I think the best years of my life, all things considered.
This was humiliating, degrading. Big difference. Ignored, treated like an animal pretty much, local police and all, I wouldn't want their job for even one day.
They say they love it, I can't imagine why?
Were all face down in the coffin Prof. when we realize it, we begin living. Selflessly, if you know what I mean. Appreciatively in thanksgiving and with gratitude for every moment, every breath.
I came across some interesting material though, 'Tuesdays with Morry' he, the professor, has ALS, and a very special 'student', have you read it?, very poignant. Reminded me of you and your grandson Profpat.
So I am thankful for that.
Still, I would'nt want to repeat the experience.
Bests
