The Earth Is Alive!!!!

We are I think now seeing a reaction from the earth,Gaia,due to our pollution and rape of
all resourses regardless of the cost to lives and health,just check out the logging in virgin
rainforests,and the destruction of habitat for tribes-people,and animals,the Orang-utan in
particular.

No it is not alive. Earth is a rock which has been subjected to billions of years of evolution. Some chemicals on the surface combined to create complexity within chaos to pass on information of stability. These chemicals now think they are the cause of the universe, part of a cosmic drama between conscious enlightenment and materialistic ignorance...how absurd
You think a planet that was formed out of fire, has a liquid iron core, spews gas and magma through vulcanos was and still is subjected to constant meteor showers cares about carbon dioxide leaving the tail pipe of a monkey toy?

That is your opinion Mr Nobody,and you are entitled to it,however there are millions like
me who see and accept the very opposite to you,that the earth Gaia is very much alive
and we are living within her matrix.

Hmmmm......I rather subscribe to the idea that we but one organism or entity within a matrix too grand to comprehend.

There is a dot on a page, within a chapter of a book; just one volume of a series; just one series of many; in one room among many; in one library among many; you can perceive where this is heading.....

Can the dot fully perceive even the page, much less the chapter, the book, the series et al? Our perspective may be too limited, or we may be limiting ourselves by the parameters we use as definitions for "alive".

As for the planet being a corpse, the corpse of all things are the very foundation for future life. We are all constantly growing and decaying with the passage of each day.

A most interesting paradox and conundrum.

It would seem to me that looking at the earth as an alive entity brings another interesting dimension to planetary understanding. We already know that it is an asteroid floating in space with an iron core. But subtle events spark my imagination to wonder.... Is there a presence that science has not detected yet that influences the goings on of our planet?

The more important question is... Does Gaia have another purpose other than survival?... Is her purpose to teach us something and is she willing to die in order to complete her mission?

Given that the majority of my energy is daily applied to care and maintenance of various biological entities (self, others, creatures, plants ) and their surrounds, I note, with interest, the many areas of bridging and interaction.

We have so much yet to learn, at the most basic levels of biology.

(The more important question is... Does Gaia have another purpose other than survival?... Is her purpose to teach us something and is she willing to die in order to complete her mission? )

I would suggest, that if we do not learn, and quickly, we shall become just another failed experiment. Nature tends toward redundancy, to improve the odds. After that, all bets are off.
