    Re: Science 'versus' God?

    Darwin made man an animal

No, he just uncovered that truth.

Man is a higher animal, at least some people, evolved from lower.

So, anyway, the 'ethical center'… was located not in the brain…?

If it's in the heart, then would a person with an artificial heart lose ethical ability? Now, please, no bull.

    Re: Science 'versus' God?

Are you referring here to a heart transplant from a donor or are you speaking of a completely artificial heart???

    Re: Science 'versus' God?

Its quite well known that the heart is a brain in all respects. It also has a universal function expressing through each of us.

I know in heart transplants while critical neural connections are lost in the transplanting process and cannot be retrieved. it is well known that other traits may be picked up such as personal idiosyncrasies of the donor.

I know nothing about an artificial heart but I would assume anything not created by a creator would hold no ethical capabilities. That is only an assumption on my part for I am not knowledgeable in that area and then I could be wrong. I wonder if we are supposed to even be tampering with such things, IMHO...I think not!

    Re: Science 'versus' God?

Austin, I believe this reference to heart was not the blood pumping heart. But the other heart which is supposed to be connected to our moral and ethical values.

This heart doesn't physically exist so cannot be transplanted, but it is a collection of thoughts in the brain, which can be refreshed now and then, when the person has a 'change of heart'. Like the mind, which is the very instinctual part of our brain, this is the more morale part of our brain.

See, apparently our perception is that, brain is a neuron filled super computer which only handles logic, but for all the things that seem to defer logic there are other things like heart, mind, soul, spirit and many more.

But, I may not be totally correct since I am replying to this based on my assumption that the discussion was about 'this' heart. But, if it was really the blood pumping heart that the discussion was about. Then please just ignore this reply and assume that I have apologized!

Mo are you referring to what is known as the Heart's Torus.

Graphs courtesy of the HeartMath Institute clearly show that when brain and heart frequencies entrain, they enter a synchronous, resonant, or coherent wave pattern. Such entrainment is critical to full development of human nature. Entrainment between two heart cells lifts nature from chaos to order.....

So, anyway, the theory of the heart organ as being the 'ethical center' could be measured by science. I wonder what centers might be in the kidney, the liver or the gall bladder.

    Re: Science 'versus' God?

    Hey, Prof,

You are saying that an infinite Design and Order such as the Creator can just be sitting around all DESIGNED and made with no cause, having had no DESIGNER or even have been made.

That is a thought experiment which is not logical. It even goes for the most complex design that there ever could be, and not something infinitely simpler, as I propose.

My thought experiment is logical, saying that something without cause can thus have no design or order, due to no designer being able to come before it. Plus, my thought is borne out by the fact that the causeless quantum level has no order; in fact, none at all, as it is a random indeterminate chaos of maximum disorder, whereas yours has a perfect order.

(You can use 'magic', as then anyone could use it, too, for whatever.)

    Re: Science 'versus' God?

Every manifestation in the universe may be reduced to its common denominator energy.
Everything is composed of energy vibrating in varying frequencies.
Energy possesses characteristics attributed to god omnipresence, omnipotence, omniscience.

This would indicate that energy is identical to god or at least a part of divine expression.
If energy is god, or is of god, then science has unwittingly discovered the existence of our divine parent that it denies knowing.
It should be realized that the truth of this metaphysical law is difficult to put into writing and should simply be intuitively grasped.

How this energy organized itself into this play of life, we have no idea.
We are that very organizing energy.

    Re: Science 'versus' God?

I agree with the first part of your post.
Science does not deny energy. Science does not deny god even.
God, had a completely different meaning a few centuries or milleniuams back. But, the definition and the conception of god has changed in the recent times with the new advancements in scientific field. Now, people use god only to refer to the creator.
Wasn't 'energy' a scientific discovery. Now that energy has been discovered it is possible for us to visualize "god as energy". Earlier god was a person, now it is not so, even spiritualists have understood that god as a person makes no sense.
Science isn't sleeping, nor is spirituality they are just changing, they are not waking up they are probably growing. We are just unable to sometimes accept the change or sometimes unable to recognize the change.
It makes sense, every word ever spoken, if we want it to make sense. Be it in spirituality or science or philosophy and sometimes even in fiction. There is nothing called denial of any word or anything for that matter. Like William Blake said, "If the doors of perception are opened, everything will appear as it truly is- infinite."
