    Re: Is it possible to prove the non-existence of God?

    Some wise words from Fredrick from another thread:

    Yet once you use a specific word, you have to declare the word in all its specifics. I know we all have a vague idea of what god means, but ask ten people ten questions about god, and you will find that there are ten ideas about god out there, not one. If you use a word, you must fully explain that word, and in light of the Theory of Everything, you must also do that on scientifically satisfying grounds.

    Anyone wish to say what "God" is?

    Stuff like God is [a rose, the universe, life, love] will not be of much specific use at all, for a rose by any other name is still a rose… and so is a universe.

    Maybe you could start Austin by defining:

    TRUTH:
    LOVE;
    BEAUTY;
    PERFECTION:

    Time:
    Space:
    Motion:
    Continuum:

    Hate;
    Fear;
    Joy:
    Sadness:

    And also please define those things I can't put words to.

    Best,

    Pat

    Re: Is it possible to prove the non-existence of God?

    I think the difference between you and I Austin, is that I accept God, and you question God right down to God's existence. You have a million questions of God, and have already prejudged Him.

    It frustrates you that God won't answer you.

    But in your questioning, judging and frustrations, you are accepting God.

    God Bless You Austin,

    Pat

    Just because Fredrick said it doesn't make it so Austin.
    What if I were to define God as the undefinable.
    Anyone wish to say what "God" is?Just that " GOD IS "

    God Bless You Austin

    Thanks, Prof; guess no one else is in class today.

    We are wondering what posters' definitions of "God" are, not what they are not, such as "undefinable", for that only proves my point and drives it home that to say "God" is not to say anything.

    (Fredrick is my "God")

    I'l be working on the definitions of "truth", etc. (really) while you guys work on yours… or not.

    I do know already that "truth" is a fact, whereas other things are quite made up, invisible, never seen, not proven, and not truth of fact…

    Always a pleasure, Prof.

    No, all are separate. That is why we must post.

    Nope, all persons are separate from each other.

    We would have to say "everyone else" to exclude ourselves.

    So, what FOR SURE, is "God"? No one seems to know.

    Re: Is it possible to prove the non-existence of God?

    Hi Greg,

    I don't know if Beauty and Perfections are emotions. I would say they are conceptual like Eternal and Infinite. I think I would even put Love and Truth up here as a concept. I would also think the definition of truth exceeds "a demonstrably proven fact" I think I have to go with MJA on this one " TRUTH IS "

    And we have the wonderful concept of I AM
    I ( first person, singular )
    AM ( Be, To be, Being )

    Best,

    Pat

    Many theologians, rabbis, holy men, prophets and wise men, asked that same question.
