Hello Clemz,
First let me welcome you to the website; hope you come back often.
Second, please explain a little more about why you have pondered this question since age 15. Did something happen that triggered this curiosity in you?
There does seem to be a correlation between mathematical concepts and the real world, and some of these can be unusual. I think there may be some kind of link between powers and dimensions, but I'm not sure if I understand your question well enough to know for sure. Please elaborate. By powers do you mean a sequence like powers of 2 such as 1 2 4 8 16 32. Also, are you referring to the dimensions of String Theory or are you referring to Euclidean Geometry in higher dimensions.
One link I can tell you is that the number of points increases by powers of 2 as you add dimensions. For example a 0 dimensional point has 1 point, a 1 dimensional line segment has two points, 2 dimensional square has 4 points, 3 dimensional cube has 8 points, 4 dimensional hypercube has 16 points, and so on (I think). Hope that helps.
Regards,
