yanniru, an Intro:

yanniru is a contraction of Yannopoulos-Ruquist, my name before I was divorced from that nice lady from Athens, Greece. She required as a part of my divorce settlement that I give back her name. So now I am plain:
Richard David Ruquist. However, I am unwilling to give up the screen name yanniru as I use it on all my Emails and it means the 'light of wisdom' in sanskirt, a bit of wishful thinking on my part.

My principal interest in physics is cosmology & consciousness. Not much happening in consciousness these days. I have written a review paper on extended consciousness at the QuantumMind2003 Conference, that may be read at: http://www.dhushara.com/pdf/ruquist.pdf.

But there is currently a revolution going on in cosmology. I am particularly interested in Loop Quantum Cosmology, LQG, particularly by Martin Bojowald. His treatment of singularities in General Relativity, GR, is profound in two respects:
1. Such singularities may generate new universes
2. The new universes bleed off energy buildup so that complete unification levels, the Planck energy levels, cannot be reached. As a result LQG which combines GR and QM is also a theory of everything, TOE, that actaully happens in the universe. The Bojowald model is of course approximate. And it would be nice to connect to GUT theory. But there is no need of a Planck energy theory. Those energy levels may never happen.
