Hello. My name is Hap, and I am fascinated by this site. I am an electrical engineer and nuclear engineer by education, and I have spent most of my professional life in the electric generation industry as a power plant mechanical system design engineer.
I live in Omaha, Nebraska, (USA), I attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, and I am a curious student of TOE, albeit a beginner. I will be looking around to find out what this site is about, and I hope to enter the river of knowledge without drowning.
I wonder if there is a some good background reading available that someone would point me to in order that I can bone up on where we are at with the science. Does anyone know if there are good on-line publications available such as libraries that offer (hopefully with freeaccess) information and data?
In my little world I find that often one can easily drown in data and starve for information. Perhaps there is the equivalent of a tour boat 'text book' around for my first voyage where I can observe the ocean of knowledge on a cruise that will explore and show me the most popular ports of call.
It is good to be here, and I am glad that some people have developed this site for an inviting port of call on the peer of adventure. Thank you, all of you!
Hap
