by name and avocation. I seem to fall into the category, at the moment, of Quantum Humanist.

My orientation is of the Cynic School after the way of the "Old Dog of Sinop". I lived on the mountain above Sinop for thirteen months. I drank from springs at which the "Old Dog" may have slaked his thirst. I ate fruits, vegetables and bread made from grain that grew in the soil from which his same food came. I was twenty years old.

I am a voracious reader and information absorber. Unfortunately, I am a generalist and a rogue scholar with some degrees and certifications that allow me to be a guest lecturer or a taxi driver. I enjoy both.

Among my certifications, I count journeyman carpenter, iron worker, welder, and electrician. I have been a union organizer and PAC support researcher.

I have traveled on assignment and independently throughout the world in the military and as a contract and independent field researcher and fact checker. I have sought no attribution or by line for reasons that are my own.


I now have the pleasure of earning my keep by working with high GPA, college bound high school students who are functionally illiterate. I have five at the moment in a three hour morning intensive that will end in December. I also have five eighth graders from two private schools on Saturday morning for a two hour intensive session. Reading and writing are learned skills. When those skills are not developed early on, the outcome is two to three hours with me at a very nice fee. I have certifications in two remedial reading methods.
