my reason for searching a toe

If toe is part of my foot then all i need to do is look down at mt feet. If toe is something abstract such as the physical concept of spacetime then i need advanced math in order to be able to see it.

this math must be able to describe the concept of direction. So far, this is done by vector and tensor analyses. The concept of direction can be used to describe all kind of motion in multidimensional spacetime.

But a question i need to answer is whether spacetime point moves? Can there be a motion of space? It is believed time must always move maybe not at the same rate as what special relativity wants us to believe.

welcome

Hi AntonioLao.

The inflationary theory of the early universe, I believe, does have space itself expanding. In fact, it was expanding at much faster than the speed of light! Which seems kind of bizzare. Its the movement through spacetime that has restrictions.

Anyway, welcome to the forums (66 posts later ). Hope you're enjoying your stay here.

Regards,
--Robert

Robert posted about the inflationary universe and Antonio asked

>>>>Can there be a motion of space? >>>>

We may not have an inflationary universe after all.

Better go to Google and see what Saul Perlmutter's group found.

Saul himself said, "We have Einstein's cosmological constant out there."

Know what this means Robert?
,
It means we are back to a steady state universe again.

Do we have to turn the clock back to the early nineteen twenties again?

Some are beginnig to think we must.

Hard to believe isn't it.

Want any info on this?

I'll post it here.

Now to Antonio's

>>>>Can there be a motion of space? >>>>

Not only can you have this but we must take into consideration Mach's principle and the translational motion of things moving within space.

universal linear momentum is zero

Robert,

Thanks for the welcoming introduction. I'm glad to be back but still i have to use the free internet connects at public libraries. So i really have to schedule my time to do these.

Fitz and Robert,

it's agreed that the universal expansion of space is greater than light speed. This is from a perspective inside the universe. But from a persperctive outside the universe, we must take Newton's 3rd law of motion into consideration, which is the conservation of linear momentum. From this outside perspective, the total linear momentum of the universe can be zero. And the outside observer sees the universe as a point because he/she deduces that his/her physical dimension is one greater than our dimension, that is to say, our 3D volume is seen as a point in a higher dimensional point of view.
