    hi

    I stumbled upon this website, and I'm intrigued. Obviously, one of the major aims of theoretical physics is, and has been for the past few decades, to unify gravity with the other forces; i.e. to find (or invent) a quantum theory of gravity. Thus on to my question: is this a website for people working on theories of QG, or is it a popular website for people to speculate on such theories?

    I looked through a few threads, and so suppose the latter, but I guess I'm just curious.

    Hi neutralino;
    Welcome to ToeQuest.
    There are some of us seeking answers and others who just want to preach theology as science. The site has forums to accommodate both; unfortunately the preachers tend to use them all.

    Ah, ok. So it's not a place for real scientific discussion then?

    Yes it is; just start a thread in the science forum of your choice. If posters stray from the discussion, just let me or Robert know and their posts can be deleted or moved to a proper forum. What would you like to discuss?

    No, no. I don't have anything specifically to talk about at the moment. I just wanted to know the makeup of the forums really. I guess I'll stay around a while and see what happens! Thanks for the welcome!

    Hi Neutralino;

    If you want just physical science I would recommend the Bad Astronomy Site or Science Forum Site.

    David is right, they allow all points of view on this site from philosophical, metaphysical, physical, religious, etc. All part of everything.

    David have you tried any of those strictly science sites. I did and the people aren't half as nice or interesting as you have here at this site.

    So enjoy them all Neutralino, the world of cyberspace is a very large world.

    Best to all,

    Pat
