Hello, my name is Kaley(apparently spell check says it's Kayley!) but my nickname has been KiGs for a long while. First off, to the site admins, I have a friend living next to me who comes to the site as well, I'm not sure if our IPs are the same, I think they might be so if that is a problem lemme know.
I'm only 21 but so far I've lead somewhat of an odd life so the best way to explain me would be to introduce a certain condition I have. I have a rare form of a rare condition (AIP), which doctors still don't really understand, this has had me in and out of hospitals quite frequently and for long stretches of time. As a result I've spent a lot of time with many different types of people, in different stages of life. I've chatted endlessly with people on the verge of death, those with "near-death experiences", those ecstatic to be alive, and many others who have shared a bed near mine. I've even been "sponsored" with free medical tests by a private medical research group who were interested in studying my condition. Despite hearing the many tales of "near-death" experiences, which seem so profound to the people who experience them, I still garner a very un-romantic view of reality. One I hope to continue to build on here!
But anyway, I graduated high school when I was 15 and took a few years off before going to college. I completed one year, but after a few severe attacks and long periods of time when I couldn't go to school I had to leave. I now live a relatively quiet life trading currency as work(maybe futures in the future:P), reading, and playing video games. And with my army of pills I feel pretty good all the time. : )
About four months ago I lost my hearing, which is really what sparked my interest in all of this. It's odd how different you have to think when you cannot hear sound, something that not everyone considers. I still think in sounds, but find myself slowly losing confidence in them. Perhaps eventually I will progress towards a more visual style of thinking, but I can't help but feel that I will be stuck in-between both. I do believe that one day technology will improve to the point where my problems can be fixed, and I look forward to the day when I hear my first sound again. I know it will be beautiful!
Thanks!

Welcome to the forums, Kaley (KiGs). First off, that's quite a life story you've got there-- it's always humbling to hear about people who have real problems in life, and I wish you all the best. I also hope you enjoy your time here at ToeQuest and learn something new, like I imagine we have all done in our time here!
With respect to your friend; I don't think there are any automatic restraints in place to stop members registering with the same IP address, but I think something may be flagged up if this happens. I'll draw Robert's (the admin/owner of the site) attention to this thread to ensure that this is not a problem.
So, explore the forums and enjoy! Feel free to send me a PM if you encounter any problems or have any questions.

If you haven't found something strange during the day, it hasn't been much of a day - John A. Wheeler.
Thanks neutralino, I read the same IP/account bullet point on the forum rules and since my complex has an odd wireless setup I thought that might cause problems.
And thanks for the welcome, I've been perusing the site for a few days and just now decided to register.
A big welcome to the forum and again thanks for the octant you did for me.
I'm sorry to hear about your AIP, and your hearing loss. It's always tragic when young people are hit with a chronic and disabling condition. I've had 3 heart attacks and have chronic heart failure, but i'm 62 and have a good and full life. I'm not sure if you are religious, but I will remember you in my prayers.
I hope you have been trading dollars for euros and not the other way around. It's my understanding that the Chinese Huan is also undervalued presently.
Thanks again for the octant, follow your doctors advice, watch comedies on TV ( I understand it's good for the mind, body and soul ), and try not to be to fixated on NDE, unless that gives you comfort.
Hello Profpat : )
Hope you liked the Octant, I didn't exactly follow your model of colors with the labeling but if you like it I don't mind tweaking it so it fits everything. And If you want any others just ask and I could give it a try.
I usually trade with UK pounds/US dollars but I'm thinking about switching to EUROs/USd with all the credit problems in both the UK and the US. And I DO watch a lot of comedies and I'm eagerly awaiting the return of House.. which can be hilarious. I download everything though.. I never bother with a TV
And with NDEs I think they are similar to dreams as they always seem to correspond with the persons belief system. IE: A gate or a fountain.. whatever it is they belief they will see. But I guess anything is possible!
There is no problem with duplicate IP addresses. That's a somewhat common situation, especially for users of AOL. If multiple users login from the same computer I may get a notification and need to follow up, but that's usually innocuous as well.
It's interesting how the brain compensates when part of it is damaged or deprived of sensory input. I've just finished reading "The Brain that Changes Itself", by Norman Doidge, and found it to be very intriguing. Science is making great strides in this area so I share your belief that you'll be hearing again.
Thanks for joining the community. It's great to have you here!
Regards,
