    Smile hello

    Hey everyone
I'm an undergraduate (2nd year) in mechanical engineering at Imperial College London with an interest in theoretical physics.
This site was a great find from a random google search..

    Welcome to TOE elrager,

The difference between a mechanical engineer and a theoretical physicist is one's real and one aint.
But it sure is fun to dream!

heh i must admit they are quite polar opposites.
my "interest" in theoretical physics is really rather shallow, i've read parts of papers on superstring or "M" theory, but a lot of the mathematics eludes me.
my hope is once i've studied tensor algebra it might open it up a bit, but still i can enjoy the articles that are written more in basic terms

    Re: hello

Welcome to the forum elranger. I hope you enjoy yourself here. I believe the string theory math is confusing to everyone, however, I do like the concept, of a one dimensional entity of Planck length size, as the essential building block of our universe.

I'm looking forward to your posts.

    Best,

    Pat
