Val...I knew it was you in the other thread "hello"....I just missed welcoming you to the forum so wanted to correct that.....chuckles...

Now, distractions at a minimum...
I am a mom and a wife. My husband and I have 5 kids: 4 boys and 1 girl. We have been married for 17 years and our oldest is 16 and youngest is 8. They are pretty much my life, my focus. As a family we are growing and learning together with respect, trust, love, open and honest communication and intense curiosity of the world and all of us in it.
We unschool, not to be confused with unparenting, which for me is indescribable, but I try.
Thank you everyone for the warm welcomes! I appologize for jacking my husbands username. It was easier to use his than think of a witty one of my own. My son helped me pick out racecar a few years back when we were discussing how words can be spelled front to back and back to front. Whats the word for that? I always forget. He probably remembers, but he's sleeping.
Love to all,
the mommy factor
Wow .... five kids, four boys and a girl ... thats 10 kids and the oldest only 16 ... !!
What do you do in your spare time ??

Hi Val....racecar reversed is racecar....genius my dear....a race implies I am making an effort to reach the finishline of my goals and car implies movement, going places, getting from point to point like idea connecting to idea....etc...
I am impressed with your signout there...."the mommy factor"....boy do we need the injection of mom voices at this juncture of our history...we also could use some "dad factor" too to open up the tunnel vision our society seems to have fallen into...
Mikal
I said mommy factor, not mommy factory!!!
Val...excellent point made when you are up against Greybeard's wicked sense of humor...chuckles....

x-games is because I've been watching them with my husband this week...Crazy trust in that.
To add a personal feel to my family ~
David is 16. He wants to build a super computer so he can make money playing WOW (world of warcraft) and he is entertaining the idea of being a surgeon. Sarah is 14. She is the child who chooses to go to school. She has an eye for design~art, hair, clothes and is interested in eco freindly design. Daniel is 11. He is my nature lover. Matthew is 10. He has a flair for computer animation, scripting, and sees numbers in a way I do not. Brian is 8. He loves cars. He loves being.
thats just a tiny speck of information about these people...
Wow....what a great combination of people dynamics and lives intertwined in passages of love that last a lifetime even when those we love grow their wings and fly off to their own spheres.....
smiles Mikal
