Old timer Introduction

This forum is provided so that users may introduce themselves to the community. New members are always encouraged to introduce themselves. You old timers, if you have never properly introduced yourselves, are also encouraged to do so. Also, please start a new thread for your introduction. Here are some topics you might want to include in your introduction.

I just came upon this and since, old timers are also encouraged to introduce again. I thought why not do it.

What to Say

1. Where are you from.

I am from Karnataka, India. A very nice place to visit, and especially my city Mysore, If all you are looking for is cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The weather never gets out of line here.

2. How did you locate the website.

I located the website in google. I think I had given "Theory of everything as a search parameter and found the site.

3. What got you interested in the Theory of Everything.

Watching a lot of discovery channel. I had heard of the term, and found out about the GUT and then I read, "A brief history of Time" and all this was very interesting. Funnily I don't watch discovery channel very much anymore, all that I'm interested in watching in TV now is sports, music and movies.

4. Do you have a unique perspective?

Yeah, I do. At least I believe I do.

5. Where did you go to school and what did you study.

I am still studying, computer science.

6. What areas are you most familiar with or interested in.

I am very interested in Physics, literature and philosophy.

7. Have you written any books or publications?

No, I have not written any books, but I do write a lot of poems, You can see them in the blog at the Toequest, or you can visit getversed.blogspot.com

8. What past influences have shaped your opinion of our world and its greater reality. This might be family, culture, education, various leaders, scientists, religion, personal experience, etc.

My personal experiences, whatever other influences there may have been, ultimately comes down to how I have percieved them.

1. Please don't tell us that you already know the Theory of Everything. You should try and get involved with the forum discussions and become a welcomed and respected member of the community before you drop this on us.

No, I do not know the theory of everything...

2. Avoid starting a science-related topic with very little or no introduction of yourself. We have many other forums for science topics. Sometimes a topic discussion ensues from an introduction, but that should not be the purpose of your introductory post.

Ok, no topic driven discussions will ensue from this post.

3. Please avoid any preaching, political discussions, spam, etc.

1. Where are you from?

I am from stardust, and of protons before that, and reside in Poughquag, NY, on a mountain top near the Appalachian Trail. I have not lived here all my life, as my life is not over yet.


2. How did you locate the web site?

Googling and oogling the "Theory of Everything”.


3. What got you interested in the Theory of Everything?

I wondered what the heck I was doing here, thrust into life on Earth in a galaxy in the middle of nowhere. I would say something like Whatever Brought Me Here Will Have To Take Me Home, but Rumi already said something like that.


4. Do you have a unique perspective?

Only to connect ideas into other “new” ideas to lubricate the toes so they won’t go dry, plus to add some humor to keep things light and also to post a lot to keep things lively.


5. Where did you go to school and what did you study?

I attended the University of Illinois and Hawaii, studying computer science and student bodies.


6. What areas are you most familiar with or interested in?

Reading, writing prose and poetry, physics, nature, neurology, life, tennis, and philosophy, but I don’t know much about history.


7. Have you written any books or publications?

I put a bunch on Amazon, as creatspace.com lets you do that for free.

Luckily that I am not religious, political, or selling Avon, so this went OK, but I did know Obama in both Hawaii and Illinois, but I can’t talk about that.
