I don't know why they use the term "scaffolding", as that is normally a means to and end like when they build an archway, but I'll just take it now now as a more literal of getting from here to there, such as the bacterium's proteins getting the solar energy into the interior.
Certainly some mathematician has a big job to figure out protein folding/unfolding.
It's a leap forward for now to know that if we can turn off consciousness by some anesthesia molecules in a certain brain location then we know that consciousness is formed there.

Absolute consciousness only make sense if it is continuous analogous to a field, for example, a magnetic field. On the other hand, quanta are particles of the field. The quanta of the electromagnetic field are the photons. The quanta of the electroweak field are the photons, W, and Z elementary particles. The quanta of the strong color nuclear field are the gluons. There are also many other fields responsible for many other yet to be discovered particles: gravitons for the gravitational field, Higgs particles for the Higgs field, etc.

Hi Antonio....I am studying a system of thought which claims that the mind is a structure of energy that consciousness creates. That structure of energy is referred to as a magnetic field so not an electro-magnetic field which I think would be consciousness acting with mind but a magnetic field is identified as the mind....

Mikal, this structure of energy has two aspects: positive and negative or yin and yang which are not separable analogous to the inseparability of magnetic poles. These are equivalent to the destructive and constructive thoughts of relative consciousness. Their existence can be manifested as square of energy.

Hi Antonio...do you think they would be saying that mind is magnetic and consciousness electric.....they say mind is aspects of light and sound. However, they claim consciousness creates mind rather than the other way around.....interesting thought!!!!!!!

Mikal, since electric poles are separable into plus and minus they cannot describe properly and completely the continuity of absolute consciousness. But the yin-yang magnetic field can. Light is the changing rates of both electric and magnetic field while sound is the changing rate of molecular vibration or oscillation of particles. The difference is particle aspect versus field aspect. The particle is always quantized while the field is always continuous.
