Just wanted to introduce myself as I sit at anchor in a tugboat off the coast of Brooklyn N.Y. I find myself with quite a bit of "down" time and try to fill it with reading and researching interesting topics on the web. One of the areas of study that I've come to enjoy pursuing is the relationship between conciousness and quantum physics. I've been reading about time/space geometry and microtubules and quite honestly, i'm getting a little lost. I've even considered going back to my school math textbooks(uggh!) to try and clarify some of what I'm reading. Hoping to gain some insight from this website and look forward to hearing from you all. Thanks.

There need not exist any relation between consciousness and quantum physics! As both cover different aspects of the Theory Of Everything.

Consciousness is a name given to something which is suppose to be the absolute, quantum physics has no absolutes, it is probabilistic. If we accept consciousness then we will have to accept creationism, anyway that's a tough thing to accept for people like me. Even the absolute needs proof in which case it becomes the non-absolute. It's a contradiction. So, we either accept it or we don't accept it. Which is relativity!!!

Hi Daniel...welcome to Toequest. I know what you mean about theories connecting consciousness to Quantum Physics getting people confused. Possibly science does not have all the answers and quite possibly we have also misinterpreted creationism....now theres a thought....

That is possibly right, in which case we will need a new creationism.
No matter how hard we think, its impossible to find something which is the beginning of everything.
Is it because we don't have enough data? or is it because, well, I don't know, give any other reasons...!!!
How can there be an initial time, point or anything else and we can't know about it.
Can we reduce the probability of creation.
I mean could we not have been created, I accept the fact that we are created and we need to revel in the glory of being alive. But what if?

Thank you Mo...I am presently studying a very, deep framework of thought concerning creationism. I certainly am receiving the author as profoundly intelligent and a man who thinks with an exceptional display of mental clarity. When I finish cutting it down and quartering it I hope to experience some of those ahaa moments which are about the only truths I align with...the rest is so much chaff in the wind...hundreds of ideologies which are not thought out using the principle of intelligent reasoning and so become what is called the drawbacks of assumption.....

Clarity is

That nothing can become of nothing;

That there was not a total nothing all around or it would still be [not] here.

Thus, there was "something" but not a some-thing.

How come no some-thing having been around forever?

Because a thing cannot be made in its detail which has not ever have been made.
Nor can "forevers" have already completed.

But, there is something now.

Was it made by some Great System of Mind?

No, for then where did that thing come from and of what were it's parts.

What's left that is formless, timeless, lawless and needs nothing before it to create it?

Possibility. Also called Potential.

All universes existed in superposition, as like in the quantum realm, all avenues being tried, with no foresight.

Our universe worked and became real-ized, perhaps by some mammal consciousness

Thank you for your reply. I read the poting you directed me to and was wondering why(and this is not the first time I've seen this term) The long cylindrical protien structures are described as scaffolding. When I think of this word, it leads me to believe something is being built. Is this the case? Is this "scaffolding" there to expedite a quantum process necessary to the evolution of conciousness? Is this a really stupid question or is some of the reading I'm engaged in starting to sink in a little bit?

Hey Austin. I replied a little while ago to your response to my introduction and might have put it in the wrong place. It's somewhere on this page. Anyway, the protien structure/scaffolding and how it is influenced (thereby influencing conciousness) by anaesthesia got me to thinking about what protiens are all about in the first place. I know Candace Pert has been doing work on amino acids and just might skip over to some of her work to see if I can find anything useful. Thanks again for the reply. Daniel.

And, I think that your location is blessed! Such a disproportionate number of the best and the brightest come from Brooklyn!! I think it beats stonehenge hands down! The list of world-class names is voluminous...
