    Introduceing greenbug.

    Hello I'm a new member. I am an armature physics person . Never taken a class on the subject but have been reading physics books sense I was around 9.

    I first got into air planes as a child and wanted to make my own so I read up on arrow dynamics. I wanted to go higher and faster with my air planes so I read that allot of physics were involved. So I picked up some books involved in vacuums and space to understand the direct nature of what my plains were flying in and that lead me to a book called QED. I fell in love with physics and from there out I've read many books on the subject and found the principles and ideas came easily to me.

    Yet as I got older I realized that terminology was a crucial thing to many people. Seeing how I have never taken a class for physics, or spoke allot on the subject to any one else, I figured my days were numbered on the subject and have sense then just pondered about the subject.

    So now nearly 20 years latter I've chated in a few physics rooms and read some interesting things about physics from time to time, I've made my way here.

    Can I do the math? Well I understand the principles and grab the correct formulas but some times I don't always come up with the correct answers. Part of my problem is I end up complicating the problem as I analyze too far into it. Some one asks me how far a bullet will make it threw a piece of wood and I want to go figure in air friction and the state of the metal on-top of elasticity. That kind of thing..

    Any how my main interest at current is theoretical physics and the TOE. I like the idea that time is capable of describing all of our 4 known dimensions and that not only is e=mc2 but also that mass and space is an equivalent of time. I know Eniy said space-time but I really think space is a construct of time.

    I have an open mind and yes other then being stubborn about what space-time is, I'm willing to consider every thing. I love to learn and try to understand the world. So here I am in TOE forums looking fro acceptance in an field I really like. Thanks and regards.

    Hi greenbug;

    Welcome to the forum. Many of us don't have a physics background, but that doesn't stop us from theorizing. Myself, I am an accounting professor at a midwestern university. Enjoy yourself at this site that Robert has provided us.

    Best,

    Pat

    Hi GB...welcome to the TOE...
    You said think of gravity as slower time in space...are you saying here that gravity and time are connected??
    I had an NDE and came out of it preoccupied with gravity and time...one of those spooky experiences to be sure and there I was with no scientific knowledge to help me....
    Hope you can post some things I understand....smiles...

    Yes I believe gravity is an extension of time. A slower aria of time in space is like a dense medium causing objects to change there angles of motion. Matter bends time around it causing gravity. People speak of gravitons and such but I really think what they are seeing is information from intervals that make up a mass being exchanged.
    and thanks for the welcome..

    Thanks GB...now that helps me tremendously because you see there are so many discussions about gravity here and what it really is that it gets quite confusing to follow all the dialect....even without scientific knowledge I have believed gravity and time are connected...

    I will follow your posts and see if I can grasp some more because with everything that is discussed here...I am still back at the electron and everyone else is at black holes and such...lol...still trying though...

    Hi greenbug;
    If you are not a member of YouTube, you may wish to register and go to the Stanford University channel.

    YouTube StanfordUniversity
    There are many extremely interesting physics lectures that may open new insights for you. MIT also has a channel with free lectures on YouTube. You don't have to register to get the lectures but I've found it helps speed up downloads if you're a member.

    If you run in to trouble, either myself or others on ToeQuest will be happy to assist you.

    Thanks, and yes I've reviewed a few lectures there. While reviewing one lecture on youtube I was upset that one of the teachers told the students that gravity acts on an object 22 ft per sec^2. Then I was upset that none of the students corrected him. I'd have to find what lecture it was again..

    Warmest welcome.

    It could be possible the lecturer is referring to gravity in other parts of the universe. However, that remains as pure speculation.

    Hope you enjoy your time here.

    lol no I think he was just trying to do quick math in his head converting from metric to US standard. I guess I could see how some one might make that mistake but I didn't think a teacher would.

    Thank you for the warm welcome.

    Re: Introduceing greenbug.

    I like to say in the little time I have spent here reading the forums I’m happy with how the Physics community has embraced time as being an answer to existing problems in physics. Fourteen years ago when I first talked about temporal physics nearly every one I talked to was confused and reluctant to think of time as any thing other then a simple man made measurement. Back then I only heard of one other person thinking of time as an explanation to energy, but now wow.

    Perhaps its this site and the people here who are more open to new ideas. At any rate I’m glad and I think we are making progress in explaining the physic of our world. I’m still saddened by the lack of co-operation and open mindedness that the community displays, but it has in my opinion improved. Another fourteen years and I’m sure we will see a TOE, but till then I don’t think we are ready.
    I always thought it be cool to be someone who changed the world, I know I’m not that smart and I’ve learned over the years it takes more then that. It takes our community to want it enough to make sacrifices. To come together to make the technological and philosophical advances needed to completely understand our world in order to change it.
    I keep trying and I wish I didn’t because I don’t know enough to be making any kind of prediction or otherwise. I’ll try not to say too much but I’ll be in the background reading and making un-intelligible comments from time to time. Any how I’ll see you all around bye.
