Hello there, I'm not quite sure why you'r reading this, perhaps to welcome me into the fold.
I am a year 12 student almost out of high school and into university and apart from my apparent lack of spelling skills, I seem like nothing more.
Well, I am even less than that to be honest, my Username is in fact a play on both 'Shepherd' and my last name, so no need to point out my 'Error'.
Anyway, being on this forums already makes me a select few who are actually interested in how everything work,s so no doubt you've already figured that one out.
I study physics and my teacher is excellent and tends to teach in a tangent to where we should be, rather than teaching wave/particle duality he'll take a spin and discuss the TOE or perhaps something else entirely interesting and not really physics at all.
Anyway, my interest has driven me to introduce myself here, which at first glance seems like an interesting place.
Perhaps I'll be proven wrong, though I hope not.

Hello Shephard, and welcome to the forum, which I have found very interesting.

There are people on this forum from around the globe, from all walks of life. People of all ages, from the self-taught to those with many accreditations. All are most interesting and all have something to contribute.

There are many categories and threads on all manner of topics related to the traditional sciences and some of the newer ones as well. There are also threads for artistic expression and entertainment, poetry and music.

Whatever means you best use to express yourself, I feel confident there will be something here that you will enjoy, or you can start some threads of your own.

Welcome to the forum. I think Labelwench already said things well, though with regard to your teacher, I've usually enjoyed teachers that drift around a bit, as long as it's still related to the subject of the class.

Yes because you are here and with no other consideration you are a valued vantage point because you care enough to be here. We all observe this universe from a single point. That point is NOW. If it is a cylinder that we look at, One will see a square or a rectangle. One will see a circle. They could talk about what they see until they are exhausted and still have no common ground until the third person sees this object from between the two existing observers. This would be the critical observation point. Maybe that will be you.
