    Navigating Newbie

~Friedrich Nitzche: "And if you gaze for long into an abyss,
the abyss gazes also into you."

    I'm gazing...

I read... I wonder why I think about the things that I do. Sometimes I feel 'driven' and I wonder if other people are experiencing this. It's coming from with in me and sometimes I find it completely overwhelming. Consciousness~ the physics of it.
Unconsciousness~ the relentless urge to express itself through a system of censorship. Fascinating.

I believe that I have some understanding of that to which you speak, Rebky.

For the present, I leave you with another quote by Nietzsche.

Welcome to the forum. Like the abyss, it has the ability to 'draw one in'.

Before the effect one believes in different causes than one does after the effect.
    Friedrich Nietzsche

    Hi Rebky...welcome to the TOE!

Yes everyone is feeling this sense of being driven...I look at it as the collective push to elevate consciousness at a time its needed!!

It was also Neitzsche who made that famous quote..."God is dead." I have never read that quote as so proclaimed because then we would have to say that God lived and took physical manifestation and we know thats not true, so I have always seen it as Neitzsche offering an insight into an approaching, crisis of faith and culture, he may have somehow been discerning....

    Regards Mikal
If I see a train coming and your on the track...if I don't tell you, it will be a pity for you and a shame on me....

I have felt that his few but powerful words in that quote refer less to God's 'existence' but more to the existentialism of man. Nietzsche saw the smug Christian values of his day, as leg irons to the achievement of man.. as well as on the human spirit. If that is what he meant, I think he was right. Religiosity, can be a bit... crippling. That being said, I certainly appreciate religion and I appreciate even more... spirituality. I think you are absolutely right Mikal, I believe he saw a moral decline and values should be intrinsic not mocked.

    Re: Navigating Newbie

You know Rebky...Religion may have had a higher purpose in the scheme of things more along the lines of helping Man refine his sense of devotion and Man himself erred by using it as a tool of social control fearing the worst from human expression.
If you study the Ages, the Age of Pisces seems to have been Man learning from religion and of course now were closing that Age and entering the Age of Aquarius which is the Age about humanity, what humanity as a collective has become..thats seems to be why the word Apocalypse becomes prevalent at the end of one age and of course Apocalypse means..."to unveil, to uncover or to decipher..."

Seems we are right on course!!

I don't know anything about the Astrological Ages... but it does seem as though there is some sort of a Collective Unconscious uprising going on.

As Carl Jung postulated...if Man does not struggle to be conscious of his own unconscious, it will mark his part of history and he will meet his fate!

If I am a product of intelligent design, I would expect my tenure to be terminated at the will of such, if I am not fulfilling my purpose.

If I am a product of nature or evolution, then I may exercise some small part in the process of my life, which natural cycle shall conclude at the end of it's biology, or prematurely in the event of bad decision making.

Either possibility still begs the question of what purpose is served by the experience of searching for purpose or meaning in our existence.
