    Exclamation three stages of knowledge

Hi, my name is Paul I am currently studying an art history degree in the uk, in particular I am researching Piet Mondrian and a painting called 'Evolution' (1910-1911). Having researched a little in to this already I know the painting represents the 'Three Stages of Knowledge', Mondrian himself became an active member of the Theosophische Gesellschaft, which I believed translates as the Theosophical society (a combination of philosophy and theology). I know that the three stages our as follows:-

    1. Thales' speculative science
    2. Newton's speciality science
    3. Rudin's generalism

    1. It is believed that Thales of Miletus (624-547 BC) was the first greek philosopher and was the first to investigate nature
    2. Newtons theories on gravity give him ample weight to be the second

However why I registered here and what I need to know is:-
    What is Rudin's generalism?

If anyone can help shed some light on this, point me in the right direction with either websites or books it would be much appreciated!

If anyone also has any more information on the first 2 knowledges this would be a great help as well or any information relating to theosology.

    Cheers

    Paul
