    Alfred Firmin Loisy

Here is a guy I came across while surfing the web. Farsighted

Alfred Firmin Loisy (28 February 1857 - 1 June 1940) was a French Roman Catholic priest, professor and theologian who became the intellectual standard bearer for Biblical Modernism in the Roman Catholic Church.

    Heres a quote
It seems obvious to me that the notion of God has never been anything but a kind of ideal projection, a reflection upward of the human personality, and that theology never has been and never can be anything but a more and more purified mythology.
    Alfred Loisy
In 1893, he was dismissed as a professor from the Catholic Institute of Paris.
His books were condemned by the Vatican
    In 1908 he was excommunicated

    Heres a quote
The search for truth is not a trade by which a man can support himself; for a priest it is a supreme peril .
    Alfred Loisy
'Blondie says I must hate all Brunettes. I'll try, but if I can't ... I'll love them both'
... graffiti on Tavern wall, Pompeii, circa AD 70.
