I propose that in principle all matter is alive, and has consciousness,we as humans though have an added dimension of self-consciousness.
regards michael.
Ok, life is a scientific fact. Matter is a scientific fact. Conscious states are scientific facts. If all matter is alive, how scientifically is a rock alive...?

Good question,a rock is alive but in a state of profound lethagy!
regards michael.
Lethargy has no scientific meaning, bearing on rock. Rocks are, hardly, profound. Not a pun...

Prehaps A good idea Lloyd would be to start a new thread, called the principle of life.
So if you are in agreement we will do that, and leave this thread to carry on as it was.

The thread has been started. I titled it, "Is life An Absolute Principle?" It's under this same, "Logic, Language and Reasoning" section.

An absolute principle may be synonymous with a Theory of Everything.

I would like to start this thread with a question, what are principles!Isthere an
absolute one?It would seem to me that there must also be a First-Principle,from
which all the other ones came from!Does a universal principle imply law! What do
we Really know and understand of Principality?I will add more later.would be grateful for other comments, thank you all,
kind regards michael.
first principle there is absolute existence of things. for infinity
the opposite , absolute nothing , means just that absolutely nothing. non-existence of things , for infinity.
