Lightbulb DIAMETER OF COSMOS (Poem) By Aiya-Oba

    Diameter of Cosmos

    I never knew
    plants have religion,
    until I heard
    their morning prayers.

    I knew nothing
    about the diameter
    of Cosmos,
    until I saw
    the dung beetle.

    The greatest value of light,
    is in the most dark.
    When you are down,
    look up.

    -Aiya-Oba (Poet/Philosopher)

    Hi Mkirkpatrick:
Thanks, you are very right. You see, without imagination, the mind is a bird without wings.
    Stay glorious,

    Diameter of Cosmos

    I sing to you,
    Through the stars of night,
And in the day of fullness,
    I merely listen and dream,

Across the bend and warp of space,
    To those spans most distant,
    There are suns and moons,
    And planets turning,

On which another sings a tune,
    Through the stars of night,
And in their day of fullness,
    They merely listen and dream.

I prefer Aiya-Oba's poem. (I actually don't think poetry should ever be compared anyway, but that is another story).

He tells about the size of the cosmos in an analogy to the dung beetle. This is a beautiful analogy- for the dung beetle is creating a home for its children, and it is made out of dung. The home is symmetrical, and all encompassing for the tiny beetles. And in fact, even though it is dung to some, it is home to others.

    How great you are T I N Y T R E E;
I am humbled in your presence,
for only a sage would have
    the wisdom and courage,
to act the way you have acted,
and say the things you have said.
You are a pure servant of Truth.
How blessed we are to have you. -Aiya-Oba

    Smile is it really you.

here is a little poem from me to you all.
The wind fans the grass, like a thousand tiny fingers, the fragrance of the dew
all around us it lingers,Is it really you?
A rainbow arches high above,a dim reminder of forgotten love,Is itreally you?
A shaft ofsunlight on a spiders web, lonely feelings begin to ebb,Is it really you?
The cawing of a winters crow, spotting food on the frozen ground below,is it really You.
and justonemore and that is it promise!
It is called light.Truth they say is all there is,I wonder then where am I,for
truth seems to escape me,tries to pass me bye.My intellect is sorely strained
to puzzle out the cause, just where on earth is the answer,I hear myself, applause,I stop sit quietly and a trickle of thought seeps into my aching
brain, you fool ,you fool, your trying to itellectualize again, will you never learn,
have you not one grain, truth is a feeling,a knowing that its right, itgoes beyond
the intellect, its essence lies in light!
    thats all i promise,regards michael

    Cool since we're sharing...

How beautiful Michael. Aiya-Oba, you inspired me to write this, but any faults are my own:

    RESONANCE

wave theory, string theory, quantum, relative and classic
it reads like a page from the jurassic
cosmos on the head of a pin. Tailspin.
What the hell is time anyway. It doesn't antimatter.

We don't know but let's pretend we do
complex formulas, might as well be voodoo
    rules of logic that mislead
    and
discoverer's joy that runs political misdeed

Did Oppenheimer ever regret, forget or
    write his epithet?
Does all knowledge trickle down, on the edge of town
ignoring the sound of the cries of the drowned

Energy and spin, come on in and
stay a while. You too can dazzle and baffle
Learn the jargon and you can be an expert
    in the bargain.
Pretend strong voice, just don't waffle.
The first is only interesting if it is the beginning of something. The first is not interesting if it is the only - Djanet Sears

    Congratulations!!!

    Congratulations MKirpatrick;

For such amount of radiation and inspiration,

    poured forth from you.

The wonder is in how boundless the soar,

When we have the guts, to open our wings,

unto the glorious air of creativity.

What a thrill,to see offsping of harmony,

    embracing the world of TOE,

    like the morning Sun.

    -Aiya-Oba.
