Tehehe.

What age do kids normally start asking questions? I can't remember with my older one cause she's 13 now but the little one just turned a year old and she's always saying "what?" when she is interrupted and today she asked me "why?" when I told her she couldn't do something (I explained why). She's only 13 months old and I think I she's a little too young to be questioning, she's really bad too. This photo was when she was only 3 months old, then she gave someone in public the finger after he questioned her.

What a beautiful B a b y!!!
And that picture gets my vote for the funniest post of the forum award.
Way to go.

Thanks Mom,

PS: I have an idea on a new source of electricity, do we have any electrical engineers on this forum to run it by?

Hi Sally;

This is the first time I agreed with everything MJA had to say. Maybe your little girl will be a great reconciler.

My grandson was born with a very rich dad, and a silver spoon in his mouth ( I know I bought it at Tiffanys ). Maybe a little matchmaking?

Well I'm glad she loves being, and she has those big beautiful eyes; and it appears some of her moms attitude .

Best,

Pat

Re: Wandering Dialogue, Non-Sequiturs, Off Topics, Random Associations

Does anyone here sleepwalk? I do, I didn't think I did but I just started doing it. Last night I put all the toys away before I went to bed and this morning, the things that aren't toys like empty water bottles and cardboard rolls were scattered on the floor. I know my husband didn't come home from work and do it, he works at night but he told me I turn lights on too. I didn't believe him until I saw the mess I made this morning. My dad walks in his sleep too, is it hereditary? At least I don't do it when I'm awake, that would suck to be awake and not be aware, altho I think that's more common and dangerous.

Electrical Generation

I've been doing some electromagnetism research lately and found the generation of electricity quite simple. Basically all that is required is a magnet and a coil or winding of wire. In fact it is so simple that a simple generator on a bicycle that rubs up against a wheel, spins a magnet inside a coil that produces the energy to light the light. Man harnesses nature in many ways similar to the wheel to spin a magnet or turbine for electrical generation. Hydroelectric, wind mills, and even coal and natural gas are used to spin a generator to make electricity. We use the Earths power and convert it to electricity.

But what about using the Earth itself? The Earth is a spinning magnet that needs no energy to turn it. All we would need is to suspend coils of wire in space, to perhaps generate an endless supply of electricity. I thought it would be a problem suspending large coils of wire in space, but then thought we already have the technology of orbiting satellites, so why not barges or space shuttles of coiled wires?

Then I thought how would we connect the newly produced electricity to the Earth. I think the process of lighting rods is one answer, and another was that the Earth would be perhaps electrified as well. That could be an issue.

Anyway, a Jules Vernean concept is all it probably is, but imagine an emission free endless supply of energy! No more carbon dioxide issues or wars for oil.
I have been skeptical of technology saving our planet, but now think their maybe some possibilities.

Just a thought,

Unfortunately, the earth is spinning along its magnetic axis, and thus wrapping coils around the earth would not produce electricity: one would need the earth to be spinning across is magnetic axis for this idea to even have a chance of working.

Satellite tech may yet find the issued solution, if it hasn't already.
OPEC, in any case, is bound to oppose anything like it.

Dear Sillysally:
OPEC is the cartel of international petroleum tycoons - the wealthiest and most powerful people in the world, followed by the weapons industry.
