    Re: East Meets West Logic...

How simple can we make it ?

    -1-
    we want to have fun

    -2-
    fun evolves as we grow

    -3-
3 stages - growth, maintenance and strive towards continued evolution

    -4-
ensure efficient growth - needs met, education open to all
    Stage I
    ->-
    Stage II (of mind transition)
ensure maintenance understood - so that people understand the change in their priorities which occur with age, duality, knowledge, wisdom ... ... ...

I really wish that somebody had been able to explain that physical possessions were to become deeply repulsive a little while later in life -
    - stuff and no mechanism for getting rid of it quickly at a fair (massively reduced) price.
Of course overpaid during Stage I of mind.

    Stage III
continued evolution - work towards maximizing 'the fun'.

    Stage III explanation
Maximizing fun entails that we're increasing the complexity of our central nervous system (our internal fun detection machinery)
    - are ourselves becoming better as we identify and amplify the fun which is possible
    - which we avail to one another.

Divorce our concept of fun away from any 'physical requirement' and we're away
    - pool all of our resources into theme parks which require actual attendance and we're nowhere.

None of this is surprising though as we examine the only real current growth area -
    - portable ever more powerful higher resolution sound and light delivery devices.

A different reality within each window
    - and all at next to no cost to our limiting physical environment.

    Re: East Meets West Logic...

Reducing reality down into a folded mirage which is only effectively real because the neurone (itself a folded mirage) is complementary (created in the image) of other folded mirages.

Once created the neurone will feel pain without its complementary binding partner.

    However ... ... ...

what if we could not meet our needs for neural stimulation?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensory_deprivation

Short-term sessions of sensory deprivation are described as relaxing and conducive to meditation,
    if sometimes boring;
however, extended or forced sensory deprivation can result in extreme anxiety, hallucinations, bizarre thoughts, depression, antisocial behavior and death.

    ~*~

The pattern then of evolution of nervous structures into a conformation which can result in inner calm.

The human theta EEG which resonates with the principle mode of the Schumann resonance
    - both at 8 Hz.

    ~*~

    Is this latter idea contradictory.

    Why?

Because we have (in this post) - the idea of an end point to mental development and in the previous post the suggestion that we should continue to work on delivering ever more efficient methods for fun to all.

I think that the answer is to be found in the 'back to the garden' recursive cycle:

    ->- ->- (optimise -> evolve -> optimise) ->- ->-

a unidirectional recursive process of evolution which results in superstructures of the same basic structure
    - each time around though
    better
because of the increasingly energetically defined emergent structure (capable of resonation) resulting in a more exciting experience (through the eyes of the emergent structure)
    each
    time
    around.

In communicating with horses, we use the process of sensitizing and de-sensitizing, as we build on our relationship of trust.

I should back up one more step to explain that there is a process termed 'imprinting' whereby the person gently touches the foal all over it's body, within the first 30 minutes of it's birth (provided you have an established relationship with the mare and she is not subject to stress or hormonal influences). This gentle handling and touch, plus the memory of your scent and voice, is the greatest breakthrough in equine psychology in my lifetime.

A foal so handled, does not fear you as a being. You still have to teach them, as a human child, and they will try your patience, but the element of fear has been removed, and the whole process is safer and advances more rapidly than in the case of a non-imprinted or fearful horse.

Back to de-sensitizing. There are certain stimuli that horses react to negatively and we allow them to observe and experience these objects, sounds, etc. from their comfort zone, gradually moving closer or increasing the intensity until they are comfortable, or at least tolerant of, what could be the trigger for a serious mishap, prior to such conditioning.

Sensitizing is the process whereby we attenuate the attention of the horse to our communication and body language.

The goal here is subtlety. We do not wish to pull on the horse's mouth, or kick it in the ribs, or cause it any intentional discomfort beyond tolerating our efforts to become more helpful and balanced riders.

Horses's are masters of subtlety, and the end result can be a horse that is lighter to the touch than a Porsche is to drive, the excitement in having so much power, yet bound to your bidding as by a gossamere thread.

The sensory stimulation of working with a creature that is such a living paradox, by it's flight or fight nature, is what I have attempted to capture in this post.

Trusting that I haven't de-railed your train of thought, SB__UK, merely side-tracked them....
