decreasing return - 03-07-2006, 01:49 PM

When a number which is less than unity (e.g. 0.999999999999…) are multiplied by itself the product is a smaller number. If this process continues, the succeeding products become less and less and get closer and closer to zero. If the process is repeated infinitely then the final product is identically zero. In probability theory, this is equivalent to finding the probability of independent events.

Time independence: [∂E(g)]²=[∂F(a)×∂r(a)]·[∂F(b)×∂r(b)] and Mass independence: a(tr(t)=c²

What then would this
independent event be? The discovery that mind is back of all!

kind regards michael.

Cool hmmm.... - 03-07-2006, 08:41 PM

so, if the probability of finding independent events approaches (or becomes) zero, is this math tending to prove the All is Infinite?

I think it is attempting to prove that all is disappearing.

If this independent event is that of an individual existence then the probability that I exist independently of everyone else approaches zero as the number of independent existence (separate individual) approaches infinity. The population of the world is more than 6 billions and counting http://www.ibiblio.org/lunarbin/worldpop therefore the probability of my existence is 1 divided by this number of people of the world or the uncountable life in the universe. However, within immediate family group or peers, my probability of existence is higher.

Cool math is hard... - 03-08-2006, 11:41 AM

Antonio is that calculation probability of individual personhood or probability of life? If so, don't you have to have the denominator include all life, not just humans?

Inclusively, yes. Exclusively as human beings was my intended idea for the demonstration. Yet I am not sure we are alone in the universe?

Actually Antonio, that would be a great thread! Okay, I took your statement to be inclusive (that your existence was not only independent of all Earthlings but also from all other life).

invisible members - 03-08-2006, 12:01 PM

what is the probability of existence for those invisible members of TOEQUEST since not many of them have posted?

Cool because it's scary... - 03-08-2006, 12:13 PM

LOL! I am an optimist, so I don't think it would approach infinity. I think it can be intimidating to post, especially if you are not occupied with these matters routinely. I know that because this is a hobby for me and not what i studied at school, nor what I do for a living, I had moments of hesitation before I posted.
