    real advantage

The superiority of real numbers, specifically the positive and negative integers and fractions over the complex numbers is that ab = ab, where a and b could be any given rationals. Along the same line, the critical gamma factor, which is very important in getting special relativity on its feet by way of Lorentz transformation, could be derived. In reality, this factor becomes a real argument of an imaginary unity.
Time independence: [∂E(g)]²=[∂F(a)×∂r(a)]·[∂F(b)×∂r(b)] and Mass independence: a(tr(t)=c²

Interesting thread Antonio.Surely it is best to always use real numbers, like real money
is fine but dud bills can land you in jail.

And why not settle for real unity, rather than an imaginary one?

The real unity is just the number 1 while the imaginary unity is the square root of minus 1.
