    partial blindness

    Partially polarized light can be considered as a superposition of unpolarized light and polarized light. The degree of blindness (B) is defined as the fraction of the total irradiance input (I) over the sum of input and output (O) irradiance: B=I/(I+O). If I=0 then B=0 and everything is crystal clear as a state of perfect consciousness. However, if O=1 then B is a rational function whose graph shows a 3 parts domain of rationality. (1) If the domain I is [0, ) then the range B is [0, 1) and the blindness increases and asymptotically approaches very slowly toward unity. (2) If the domain is [0, -1) then the range is [0, -∞). This demonstrates the existence of negative degree of blindness which increases rapidly as the retarded irradiance asymptotically approaches negative unity. (3) If the domain is (-1, -∞) then the range is (1, ∞). This indicates irreparable blindness including total loss of memory and consciousness.

    A variation of one Chinese proverbs says that to be happy for a day is to learn how to sleep soundly. To be happy for a week is to learn how to party. To be happy for a year is to get married. But to be happy for the rest of one's life is to learn how to fish.

    Re: partial blindness

    Hi Antonio;

    Does partially blinded light wear glasses? Whenever I use to go fishing I would through them back. I just couldn't find it in myself to kill the little guys. Beside who would want to clean them. I guess if I was hungry without benefit of a fish market I would eat them.

    Best,

    Pat

    Since seeing the movie Jaws, I never go swimming in the ocean. Only lakes and swimming pools. I'll wade in the ocean however, but not ass deep.
