| Montgomery-Dyson connection As a result of a chance meeting in 1973 between Hugh Montgomery (a number theorist) and Freeman Dyson (who showed the mathematical equivalence of Feynman's and Schwinger's version of quantum electrodynamics) further made the connection between Riemann zeta function and the eigenvalues of quantum theory.
