    efficiency of the A dream

Baseball, Apple-pie, and Chevrolet, these three iconic catch words represent, at the core, the meaning of life for anyone living in a free country, especially for someone living in the United States of America. In a sense, they symbolize the true meaning of freedom. However, realistically everything does come at certain costs and there is no free lunch or free energy. These costs frequently appear wherever and whenever, and without any space-time preferences, here, there, or anywhere, in the past, now, or in the future, a drive to achieve maximum efficiency. On the other hand, to do nothing, without drive or ambition, would only mean minimum efficiency approaching zero, and zero efficiency costs nothing but the collapse of an existing economy.

In the history of baseball, hardly any player reached a batting average efficiency of more than 30%, obeying the rules of the game of fair-play. In an effort to reach maximum health: an apple a day keeps the doctor away makes perfect sense. The carbohydrates in most fruits and vegetables give the highest energy efficiency. Desire to move efficiently from here to there or from there to here maximizing covered distances and minimizing elapsed time intervals made possible the growing industries of combustion engine technologies. If there are no sports then there are no funs and excitements and life becomes boring. If there are no greens and grains at the base of the food pyramid then the living body failed to function at maximum efficiency. If there is no mobility then the world stood still at zero efficiency.

What a load of hogwash ...... lol.

In this part of the world we're a bit more basic. Our iconic words are Football, Meat Pies, Ozzie Birds and Holden Cars.

Antonio my dear friend, here in Turkey it is cay,(tea) meatballs, and baclava,(a honey and nut pastry) we
reach peak efficiency when we drink cay, have some meatballs followed by a small portion of baclava, then,
we all go for am exorcising swim in the Med-sea.

    Riding a bike also helps!

    regards michael.

I always have a large portion of Baclava, and then another one, and then before I swim in the sea, another one just so the cook won't feel insulted ... lol

Personally, I'm thinking it's just about time for those 'human resources' that still retain any sense of self worth and a work ethic to pull the plug. Head for the hills and let the deal go down. Watch it all fall apart.

It wouldn't be very pretty, but it might be the only way to 'reset' civilization.

Won't be any time for ball games. Too busy staying alive.

Might be apples, when they are in season, and before you can make a pie, someone will have to grow and harvest wheat and grind it. Anyone know to do that if the grid goes down?

And as for Chevrolet or any other make of vehicle, gasoline, tires and repairs.....need I say more.

Suddenly those horses I have selected for their endurance and intelligence, and no need for horseshoes, are starting to look mighty practical.

    Efficiency.

    Purpose.

Far too much of the dream of today is neither efficient, nor serves any purpose, beyond short lived diversion.

    Thanks for the post, Antonio.

If these can help you achieve maximum efficiency then my my point is taken.

Thank you for the questions, Antonio.

    efficient - Productive of effect.

efficiency - the ratio of useful work performed to the total energy expended.

My comments were directed to the corporate workplace of which I am a part, therefore I cannot extrapolate my observations beyond that which I have experience of.

Nature is the ultimate model of efficiency in my opinion.

Humans, and all of their constructs, fall within that paradigm.

How then, can a part of a paradigm fully appreciate the entirety of that of which it is only a small part?

Yet, we are a part, that seemingly has the potential to effect that of which we are a part of.

'Profits' are a mathematical framework, arising from a human concept of numbers.

Corporations, in my observation, use the framework of numbers to gauge various activities within the scope of their purpose.

When 'human resources' are factored as 'resources' without allowing for the conditions of being 'human', the mathematical formulas used in predicting 'profits', though 'logical', shall yield unpredictable outcomes.

The scope of the ever increasing population of this planet, in relation to the renewable, yet finite resources of the third rock from the sun, pose challenges beyond my ability to suggest a remedy for.

The only constant, that I have observed, (and I respect the limits of my observations, and acknowledge that my intellect and imagination is of tiny scope,) is change, and I accept that change is coming.

As one speaker commented at a lecture, "You can be part of the bulldozer, or part of the road."

Either way, the landscape is going to change....

Allow me to contemplate further on the questions you have posed....

    Thank you,

    Lorrina
