Sonics is not a place for a hungry person to get juicy hamburgers or icy milkshakes. Optics is not a place for a person with sight deficiency to get a pair of eyeglasses, contact lenses, or tinted sunscreens. Both are branch of physics dealing with the motions of waves. The first deals with longitudinal (to and fro) sound waves, while the second deals with transverse (up and down) light waves. Both share the same general covariance characteristic properties of wave motion. These are frequency, wavelength, and velocity. If waves move within the same specified medium then these three properties are interconnected by the simple equation such that the product of the frequency and the wavelength is always equal to the magnitude of the velocity, meaning frequency and wavelength is inversely proportional; while the magnitude of the velocity simply gives the constant of proportionality.
Although both sound and light share other interactive properties with a medium: reflection, refraction, magnification, dispersion, diffraction, and interference; for humans, sound and light do not share the same ranges of frequency. The audible range is between 20 Hz and 20000 Hz, while the visible range is between 420000000000000 Hz and 750000000000000 Hz. However, their corresponding dimensionless ratios of upper to lower bound are 2000 for sound and 2 for light. This quantized effectiveness of continuity and utility is much greater for sound than it is for light. Therefore, it is not surprising that sound waves are utilized by four of the five senses of living things: hearing, tasting, smelling, and touching; while light is utilized only by the sense of seeing. However, their overlapping utility gives humans the sixth sense of feeling as the primary cause of emotions. If emotion is defined as the evolution of motions then it is equivalent to the kinematics of both linear and angular acceleration and deceleration. All these superpositions of sight and sound give the living power that even totally blind and completely deaf living creatures is still capable of showing emotions. Without the constructive power of feelings and emotions all creatures, big or small, will lose the ability to procreate.
