The obvious answer: no one. It implies that a director is a person similar to the director of a movie, of a musical orchestra, of the chief executive of certain schools, institutions, government bureaus, etc. If the director is a thing then in military parlance, it is a mechanical or electronic device that continuously calculates firing data for use against an airplane or other moving targets. In order to hit a moving target, the director must constantly calculate the changes in pointing direction. However, if the target is moving at the speed of light then not only the director fails to aim hitting the target, the target itself becomes invisible. It has reached the light barrier. The target can be hit by superluminal firing directors that have broken the light barrier. On the other hand, if the target merely reached the sound barrier then the firing director needs only to break the sound barrier and hearing a sonic boom would indicate that it has done so.
Conceptually speaking, there are three distinctive classifications of director for the physical universe. There are the ones that direct everything within a reasonable vicinity of their neighborhood into the centralized black holes. There are the others that direct the universal accelerated expansion. Both classes are superluminal directors. Light cannot escape the pulls of the black holes once it crosses the event horizon as the point of no return. Expanding light cannot turn back once it reached the boundary of the visible universe at a diameter of 900 mega parsecs. Alternatively, both these scenarios also help removed Olbers’ paradox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olbers'_paradox) needing neither a big bang nor an infinite theory of the universe. Nonetheless, the dynamic equilibrium points between the implosive directors and the explosive directors are the cold fusion directors. These are the quantum vacuum fluctuations of the squares of zero-point energies calculated at the thermal origin of gravity. Moreover, cold fusion directors can choose to be implosive or explosive once a certain local symmetry is broken. The former gives attractive gravity, the latter gives antigravity.
