The objective of cold fusion is changing virtual particles to real particles. Particularly, it changes virtual bosons to real bosons, for example, virtual photons to real photons, preferably, real photons with high useful energy content. Unfortunately, the uncertainty principle of quantum mechanics limits this high energy extraction to extremely short temporal duration and infinitesimal spatial extension although as a storehouse of infinite energy the quantum vacuum dominates its spacetime extension throughout the entire universe. Moreover, this spacetime extension is observed to be expanding homogeneously and isotropically. This global spacetime expansion suggests that the natural processes are preponderantly changing real to virtual even though the big bang singularity was a virtual to real change at time zero and space zero.
Topologically speaking, expansion and contraction are equivalent to changing spacetime directions. But without a reference point, these directional changes are not distinguishable. If positive refers to expansion then negative refers to contraction, vice versa. However, the equilibrium between expansion and contraction becomes s linked topology such that if one topology expands the other contracts, vice versa. It represents an ideal configuration of check and balance as two torques alternately demanding and supplying energy from each other. The product of these energies becomes the square of zero-point energies of the quantum vacuum fluctuations.
