GUILLE,

The boundary of the timelike region and the spacelike region is the lightlike region where past present and future merged together.

Apart form the merged parts of time, does the parts of space also merge? (behind, up, down....)

at the quantum level space and time are equivalent, merging of time is the same as merging of space. When the merge is completely in equilibrium then the spacetime structure is lightlike. When the merge is more time then the spacetime structure is timelike. When the merge is more space then the spacetime structure is spacelike.

What if the merge is zero in both time and space?

When both space and time are in perfect balance, this is the region of lightlike domain of the lightcone known as the surface of the cone extending in both direction toward positive and negative infinity.
