Click on "remember me" when you log in and that won't happen. You can then always click on "log out" when you want to log out and all cookies will be deleted.

Moderator note: I've split this off from a thread in the TOE theory forum since it was offtopic there, and moving here may enable the solution to be useful to other members with that problem.

Hi Rufus,

For security purposes the forum will automatically log you out after 45 minutes if it thinks you are no longer active. So be aware that if you spend more than 45 minutes composing your post, the system will think you are inactive and may log you out. One way to avoid this is to preview your post within 45 minutes and that will reset the session timeout, giving you another 45 minutes to edit your post.

Also, you might verify that you have cookies enabled. Cookies are used to keep you logged in when you go to non-forum parts of the website, like the quiz, chat room, and maybe the blog area.

Neutralino's idea of checking "remember me" is a good one. Unless you click on the "Log Out" link, you will automatically be logged in when your return to the website after your session expires.

One more idea, when you arrive at the ToeQuest homepage and you appear to be logged in, you can refresh the browser to see if you are really logged in. This happens if you click "Log Out" from the home page and then, from the "All cookies cleared" page, you go to another website and then you return to ToeQuest. It shows that you are logged in, but a refresh will show that you are really logged out. This behavior is not how it should work so I'll track down the problem and get it fixed.

I believe the above problem is fixed now. Rufus, please post or send a PM if you continue to have login/logout problems. Thanks!

Rob

Well thanks very much. I'll give it a shot tomorrow.
