yes yes this might very well be a dumb question but..... i'm technologically challenged so could a kind someone hold my hand through uploading a picture from my PC?

Would you like to attach an image to your post? If so, then go to the advanced reply screen (either click "quote" to reply to a thread, or click "quick reply" followed by "go advanced"). Click on the "manage attachments" button, and then use the "upload file from your computer" option. Use the browse button to select the file from your computer.

Another way to display images in your post is to upload the picture to a filesharing website, say http://imageshack.us/, and then enclose the link your are provided with between [ img] [ /img] tags (without the spaces inside the square brackets).

If you have any more problems, feel free to ask!

A much easier way than Neutralino's is to become a paid member of TOEQuest and Robert will give server space to store your images which are easily uploaded by the 'uplaod photo' button in 'gallery'

Then all you need to do is to enclose this code in any post in which you wish to display an image

http://www.toequest.net/gallery/data/509/Kolkatta.jpg

where 509 is my user directory, and Kolkatta.jpg is the name of my image

and enclose inside the image operators eg: [img] .........directory and image ...... [/img]

thank you Neutralino... but i dont know what you mean when you say 'attachment' does that show on the posting as a hyperlink or downloadable file or an embedded viewable photo?...

....no one look whilst i practice!!

thank you greg for giving more suggestions <smile>.. i think i have a handle on it now.... tho' i now have another question! - what happens to the image that is available at the mo if i change it to use the available upload space in future postings?......

Not quite sure what you mean. I have around 100 images stored in my gallery on this forum. Robert will give you enough space for many images ???

The attachment shows up exactly as it did in your last post. If you then want to embed it in the text, use [ img] [ /img] tags (without the spaces inside the brackets) and use the address of the image, obtained by clicking on the image and then copying the url from the address bar.

I'm really computer iliterate. What I do is copy the picture and then paste it on the post.
