Greetings People of TOE. I have condensated temporarily to respond to questions. First an apology for my absence from discussions lately. As you may know I must work during the daytime so I can buy food for my son and nice gifts for my wife. Ordinarily it's a 9 to 5 job without a whole lot of stress. However, about once a year, I must work myself to the brink of a nervous breakdown to get a software product released. One way or another, this cycle is about to be concluded. Another week perhaps.
To answer Rufus's question, I think it's an excellent idea. I have attempted to contact three or four scientists/philosophers (via email) to introduce myself and/or invite them to the website. I did have one person respond to my email and I could follow up with some kind of invitation. I'm thinking a chat or a monthly theme based on the person's work with an invitation to that person to join the discussion or the end-of-theme chat. Also, we do have several members, who are authors of quality books, with us today. Although they are active members, they are usually low-key and not vociferous posters.
I'll need to be the contact person and send the letter but I'm open to suggestions on content. I used email previously but that can be lost in all the spam that I'm sure these guys receive. A letter may have a better chance of getting through and being read by someone. A token payment of some kind might help establish credibility or show that we're serious. Just brainstorming now, we'll hash out the details in the coming days, but I think it's an excellent idea and agree we should move on it.
Keep the ideas and names of potential candidates coming. Ok, I gotta get back to work now.

I'm not prepared to anything without approval and also I cannot even see your post. My software is not working and shows me Toequest about two days behind so it's only Robert that can fix that. I have to dump my membership and start over, I think, and I will be able to follow the threads properly. I can only respond to this because it shows in my email.
You could find the public relations email addy for CERN if you want and see if they want to discuss what the heck they plan on doing with a brand new accelerator that can't prove string theory??
I don't want to do anything unless ToeQuest is represented and my software is fixed.
Thanks Dip

Thread split from the Forum Layout thread. I think this deserved a discussion thread of its own.

I think we have consensus of those here. I doubt if there is any opposed, vote carried.. do I hear a second..
What we need to do is establish a list and a process. I like the idea of sending snail mail because the respondent is somehow required to answer. If Robert and the Mods were to agree to the contents of the letters then we could share the responsibility of the mailing. If the respondent were to decline by snail mail, we could scan the response and post it accordingly. (No money should be involved)
Let the discussion begin
and ps.. my software may be operating properly again
