Hello Kevin. First and foremost, let me thank you for becoming a member and participating in the ToeQuest Forums. You bring a wealth of knowledge and will make a valuable addition to our community.
I think the problem with getting new topics going is that membership has not yet reached critical mass. If you check the forum statistics you will see that membership didn't really start to take off until just last month. We now have 22 members with the number of new members increasing at over 100 percent per month since September. Just hang on a little longer and things should start moving. I'll be spending some time over the coming days introducing the topics better.
In addition, we have a mailing list to which members may subscribe to receive notification when the forum accumulates a significant amount of new material. Currently that metric is every 50 new postings.

Wisp,
Sometimes the topic presenter presents such a complete analysis that there is nothing to add to it. I sheepishly think that might be your problem. Could you dumb it down just a little or present a teaser to lure us into the discussion? We should all have your problem. Your response to no response is priceless. Happy New Year, Wisp.
Is particles of nothingness a joke? I have to ask. It is important to me.
Michelle
Dear Michelle:
Unfortunately, in my experience, the term 'particles of nothingness' has arisen more than once and not as a joke. In formal science there is an entire academic branch dedicated to 'Particle Physics'. There are a host of people who have Ph.D's in particle physics.
What is noteworthy about this is that, until further notice, there is no such thing as a discontinuous particle which - by having a 'surface' - divides itself from the space surrounding it. For this reason it is said that no two physical entities ever touch or contact - since to do so would require surface to surface interaction, and, since there are no surfaces, there is no contact. Deliberate and abundant expeditions have been conducted in search of a particle of the afore described definition. All that is found is charges of electricity, having no definite surface, while fullfilling the definiton for matter possessing negative and positive inertia; disallowing the simultaneous occupation of their given spaces by any other charge of electricity. You are invited to click on the 'home page' listed in my avatar, and draw your own conclusions.
I hope this helps answer your question, though, of course, I do not have all the answers.
Post Script: I'm with you on your sentiments to Wisp. I too think there should be a category dedicated exclusively to gravity.
Regards
