After reading "Fingerprints of the Gods", by Grahm Hancock, It appears that the oral and written legends, myths, the bible and stories passed on from prehistoric times are telling similar stories of the past and predicting similar ends in the future. Why not try and decipher what that story is telling us? The truth is something did happen back then, and will happen in the future. The truth is there is only one story about the past that is the truth, and the truth in history is much easier to find than the truth in the future, you have to be a prophet or fortune teller to do that. If one belief system best fits the archaelogical and fossil evidence with its story of the past, then that one might best tell the story of the futre also, then maybe not,

Why so many secrets, you belong to the same exclusive club? I've never found out a truth that hurt me or anyone else. Actually, a lot of people have told me, "the truth will set you free." Were they lying, or ignorant? I would suppose ignorant, because according to you, if they (and I) had the real truth we'd all be dead, or some other bad thing would happen. I'm just a seeker, I don't want to rule the world or anything.

Imagination is liberation, achieving parallel worlds which are false, not real, not exact... This is the great failure in our minds: we either can know the truth and be slaves or be free but know no truth, only falsity. And anyway, most people DON'T want to knwo the truth, that is why so many people invent things like life after life or god or soul, because they need to lie to themselves to be happy. I prefer to be unhappy, if it is the cost I must pay for knowing truth.

Freedom is provided from the facts through justice. Crimes committed infringe on others freedoms. Punishment based on the truth, or facts about crimes helps guarantee those freedoms. In some countries you aren't even free to imagine, and then tell others about it. (today that occurs in mostly atheistic communist countries, fundamental Islamic countries, and our universities) Go and try to imagine a scientific theory that supposes some kind of Diety or Design to our universe and then research it scientifically as a professor at a major university today. You won't be working long, as happened at Baylor recently. I'm not saying intelligent design of some sort has to be the theory, I'm not that smart. But, I am open minded and smart enough; and believe in the same freedom of imagination you do; to know lack of study of all possible theories isn't freedom, it's cowardice. What's the worst that can happen? We'll make some intelligent designers look stupid. I say, "give them some rope and let them hang themselves." It's just ideas we're talking about here, not murder. Just looking at the TOE problem in a different way, like intelligent design, might give us answers that lead us away from intelligent design, but a real TOE.
