    New Posting Policy

    Big Plans for 2006
Welcome members to a new year. ToeQuest has big plans for 2006 including moving the web site to a larger server, upgrading to vBulletin 3.5, starting a community newsletter, a new photo gallery, some professional logo/header work, more flash technology integrated into the website, more quizzes, a redesigned study hall, new educational tools, and much more.

    New Policy
One image that ToeQuest will cultivate during 2006 is that of a professional website for both researchers and the layman, that has a relaxed, friendly, non-intimidating atmosphere. With that goal in mind, I have made some policy changes in regard to what is acceptable and unacceptable content in the ToeQuest Forums. One area I'll be cracking down on are members who claim to know the Theory of Everything, the meaning of life, or claim to have all the answers and do this with a patronizingly superior attitude. This attitude will no longer be appropriate in these forums as it causes antagonism, angst, and unease in our community. Offending posts will be removed, and members will be banned for repeated violations of this policy.

    Summary of the New Rules
The following is a summary of the new rules that members are expected to follow:
    1. Do not claim that you have discovered the Theory of Everything unless you're willing to share your knowledge with the community. If you don't wish to share then don't tell. This is the "no share no tell" policy.
    2. Your posts should be professional and respectful. If you are angered by someone's post, do not respond in a negative way. You should report a bad post and the moderator will review and delete the offending post, if needed. You may also lower the poster's reputation.
    3. Do not talk down to other members of the community.
    4. Do not argue over who knows the TOE or who has the better TOE. This is juvenile.
    5. Do not create antagonism in your posts.
Posts will be removed that violate these rules and members will receive a warning. Members will be banned who make multiple violations of these rules. These rules are meant to build us a stronger community that can be more successful in our quest.

Sounds like it will be a good year. Thanks as always Robert for all the effort you put forth. I just have one question, I realize that the new policy that you can't claim to know the TOE is probably directed at me. Anyways, my question is what if you say you know the TOE and you will provide it but then others act uncourteously towards you? Would you still be required to tell them the TOE if they did not apologize? Just wondering,

    Hi Subversion,

I miss you in my section. Yes, I'm recruiting you for my section. It gets lonely with only God, Cosmology and the Biology to keep me company. I realize that the TOE is where it's at, but give a girl the pleasure of your company. I will share with you my theory of altered perspectives to view the universe. Inspired by Robert no less. He said something about viewing something from near and far that I thought was interesting considering the light years one has to consider in spacetime.

I think it would be best if, from now going forward, you present your thoughts and ideas to the community and not worry about who was uncourteous and needs to apologize. You are not require to present your TOE. However, if you do not present your TOE, you are disallowed from talking about it as you've done in the past. When you present your TOE, if it is sound and has merit, then others may apologize if they wish. You cannot demand or require that apology. The way to earn respect is by sharing your knowledge with the community and showing a true desire to learn more. Not be presenting yourself to the community as an outsider with demands that must be met before your gifts are distributed. That will earn you no respect. So join us in our quest. Work with us. And as the Many-Worlds Pub bartender would say, "You must follow the rules!".
