Last night I upgraded the forum software to the most recent release. There are not any major changes so it should look pretty much the same as before. It was listed as a maintenance release to improve stability and provide compatibility with future products. As part of the upgrade I also upgraded many other hacks I've added to the forum.
Did you know you can affect another members reputation? If you click on the 'Add to Reputation' button of a post, you now have a choice regarding how much to increase or decrease a members reputation up to your maximum reputation power. This is a new feature I added.
The user control panel works a little better now so be sure and check that out. Also, some of the doodads in the 'What's Going On' box (bottom of the forum home page) have changed a little bit. Other changes aren't visible but add improved efficiency or security.
Unfortunately, I had to remove the thread prefixes due to a conflict with member articles and another product I'm investigating. Plus the prefix feature required massive edits to the code and became a nightmare when upgrading. The prefix allowed a thread starter to indicate what kind of posts were desired: scientific only, alternative viewpoints, or unified (both types). If you're interested in a particular point of view be sure to state that in your opening post.
Regards
--Robert
