Hi MJA;
You are a member, just not a dues paying member. Members who pay dues get some advantages, but I'll let Robert explain those. I think the money is used to help fund the cost of running Toequest. ( and Robert's vacation to Hawaii)
I believe the dues are $25 for a year though any contribution I'm sure would be welcomed.
If you go to the home page, you'll see where you may make a contribution.

Club membership dues are not a requirement, MJA, it's just that there's overhead costs for Robert to run this website and he needs all the paying Club members he can muster.
I'm gonna pay dues to the Club but as little as it is, I have to wait. The Mrs. and I are walking very thin line on budget, but TOEQUEST is definitely at the top of my list for the next affordment.

Yes, you're a valued member of the ToeQuest community and you don't owe anything other than your participation and a witty comment now and then.
Here is a list of what the money is for:
Pay for expenses involved with maintaining and improving the website - hosting fee, domain registration, advertising, tools, website software and maintenance fees, etc.
Pay for Starbucks coffee to keep me awake late nights working on the website.
Pay for nice gifts for my wife so she can overlook that I spend so much time working on the website and not spending time with her.
It motivates me to work harder for you guys.
It inspires me to think that one day in the far future I can quit my day job and do this full time.
Pay for beer when I realize that day will never arrive.
Your benefits as a Toe Club Member.
Your name appears in a very distinguished color.
You can create polls that appear on the home page.
Your private message limit is increased.
You can make yourself invisible.
You can upload a custom avatar.
Your avatar can be larger than others.
You can give yourself a custom title.
You have access to a forum reserved for Toe Club Members only.
You can know who has read your thread and when they read it.
Your website suggestions are given higher priority.

Thanks Silly! Your membership may not prevent you from being banned but the 'benefit of a doubt' will certainly be in your favor when you get into a dispute with a non-Toe Club Member. Yes, I do sell 'Get Out of Ban' cards. You might buy one now if you anticipate being banned in the future. 10% off for Toe Club Members

Why you're Mary. The fearless leader knows all.
If you subscribe through the forum software it is all automatic except for the additional 4 months. I'll need to manually adjust the end date for that. If paid with the donate button I can usually match the name or email with a member's profile then I manually add a subscription.
